Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday. Catholics, what will you be giving up for Lent, or what will you be doing for Lent?

I have done that as well. I find it more in the spirit of lent. Lent is not a show for the outside world. It's preparing for Easter. This year I am going to make read "Imitation of Christ". Well not read it so much as actually study it. I have read parts of it before.

I think it's a good idea to "give" something up if their are children in the picture, but the main focus should be on anything that goes toward our walk. I totally agree with you on this.

Only if you can see Jesus’s face instead of pizza. I know I can't! I did successfully give up meat for the entire 40 days once. But I found it distracting.

I’m giving up pasta and doing a daily prayer. I’ll still make pasta for the family but won’t partake. I was having the discussion about Lent and my 8 year old said she was giving up vegetables. I said, “You really aren’t a vegetable fan to begin with?”. Her response, “Yes... so it will be easier for me to stay away from them and I will succeed”. Nice try little one!

I can’t help lead our East TN posse this year because I’m at a Rehab Hospital re-learning how to walk. I intend to offer my (small) suffering daily to help the miserably misled women who think abortion is their only workable choice.

St. Joseph, help the “missing factors,” the menfolks, man up and take charge of protecting and defending their own begotten sons and daughters. Help their love abound for their wives/girlfriends. Let love abound!

Holy Family of Nazareth, pray for us.

I’m giving up going to a few websites that are a waste of time. It was hard to think of something for this year since I have almost zero free time.
