For the Record: As everyone knew, Pope approved most shocking document in the History...

"For the Record: As everyone knew, Pope approved most shocking document in the History of the Church of Rome"

It was what Italians call a "segreto di Pulcinella", that is, not a secret at all: the Pope was personally aware and personally approved the relatio post disceptationem, the "midterm" report released on Monday following the first week of the 2014 Extraordinary Assembly of the Synod of Bishops "on the Family".

What has been called by many prelates a "disaster" or "unacceptable", the first official document of the Church of Rome ever accepting of very curious notions (including the "positive" aspects of same-sex "relationships"), the relatio post disceptationem had obviously been prepared, by its very timing and the astonishing (for Vatican standards) fact of the simultaneous release of several translations, long before the Synod by Lobbyists, including Cardinal Baldisseri, with the main influence of Archbishop Bruno Forte. Now, Cardinal Baldisseri, master of all Synod-related matters, has nonchalantly revealed when asked (as reported by Aleteia and by the splendid Hilary White for LifeSiteNews) that the Pope had been personally aware of it and had personally approved the content of the report.

He also made clear that the non-approved paragraphs of the final report were included as part of the main document (in complete contradiction with any supposed notion of "synodality" or consensus) by direct papal order.

To our knowledge, French historian Christophe Dickès was the first to say at the time, immediately after the publication of the midterm relatio, that its publication would have been impossible without the full knowledge and approval by the pope.

Didn’t say they were in the same class, but mark my words all types of perversion will be accepted with this Jesuit leftist leading the Church. Just an absolutely terrible pope for this time in the history. We need strong traditional leaders leading the church, not modernists who could care less about the doctrine of the Catholic Church and that describes Francis to a T.

Maybe Malachi was right after all, and this is the idiot that takes down the Church.

I once heard an interesting interpretation of the Mustard Seed parable. Jesus said that the Mustard seed was one of the smallest seeds, but it made a huge tree, big enough to house the ‘fowls of the air’.

This gent pointed out that while its true that Mustard seeds are some of the smallest seeds (a reference to the single person of Christ) it is also true that mustard plants can be large (like the Church would be).

However, not large enough for birds to nest in, but big enough for them to hide under. ‘fowls of the air’ may have been a suggestion that the devil’s agents would infiltrate the church and work within and beneath its many branches. Were enough birds to actually try and land on a mustard plant, it would break off its branches and eventually die.

If the soil were good, new plants would begin from the original seeds.

It was an interesting and thought provoking interpretation, suggesting that Jesus knew and foreshadowed that Satan would eventually use the Church against God.

Francis has had me thinking about this interpretation since the smoke went up the chimney.

Ummmmm.... Does not Rome tell us that they believe “he gates of Hell will not prevail”? Looks like complete infiltration

Rome jumped the rail sometime between the Council of Orange and Trent. Whenever that happened they became irrelevant.

But I could not see anyone saying that Jesus Christ and Muhammed are two names for the same person.

Fair enough. I agree here. I think the comment that made me go, "Huh?" was the kissing the Koran part. I immediately had to go back and see if they meant JPII. I don't think Francis has ever kissed the Koran either (although it wouldn't surprise me if he did).

I see what you mean and I don`t know much about him but if every thing they are saying is true, I agree.

Reasonable question.

Not only is it reasonable but if he were anyone else but the “pope”, the answer would be quite obvious: No.

I'm anxious to hear from any of the Francis "defenders".

Frankly, no pun intended, it doesn’t bother me. In fact, I would rather see what bishops had to say, and who was faithful, and who wasn’t. I don’t like the notion of back room deals, etc. I like free and open proceedings, and transparent communications.

If the Pope said it was OK to publish preliminary, mid-term, etc. findings, fine by me.

What is REALLY important, to me, at least, is what is actually taught, and what is in the final report.

I don’t see a Jesuit conspiracy behind every Dominican, nor do I put much credibility in the Rorate Caeli.

Some people don’t care for Pope Francis, some do. Some prefer Pope Benedict, etc. It is our duty to pray for the Pope, and all clergy, and religious. It is our duty to believe the Ordinary Magisterium. Nothing that Pope Francis has actually said, in context, has gone against Church teaching. Rather, he often cites the CCC, as well as Papal documents such as Humana Vitae.

Regardless, I think there is real style issue, and people are reacting to it. In my opinion, and in some cases, the reactions are over the top.

You seem to miss the point. There was a final report and that report contained heresy regarding the sacrament of marriage.

Oh yeah?

“That’s why, for me, sin is not a stain I need to clean.”

"The Church officially recognizes that the People of Israel continue to be the Chosen People. Nowhere does it say: ‘You lost the game, now it is our turn.’ It is a recognition of the People of Israel.”

“I also think with affection of those Muslim immigrants who this evening begin the fast of Ramadan, which I trust will bear abundant spiritual fruit.”

“I do not approach the relationship in order to proselytize, or convert the atheist; I respect him… nor would I say that his life is condemned, because I am convinced that I do not have the right to make a judgment about the honesty of that person… every man is the image of God, whether he is a believer or not. For that reason alone everyone has a series of virtues, qualities, and a greatness of his own.”

“Sharing our experience in carrying that cross, to expel the illness within our hearts, which embitters our life: it is important that you do this in your meetings. Those that are Christian, with the Bible, and those that are Muslim, with the Quran. The faith that your parents instilled in you will always help you move on.”

It is our duty to believe the Ordinary Magisterium.

Which one? The pre-VCII Magisterium or the post-VCII Magisterium?

If one has to ask, then one have a series of problems and questions.

In short, if one don’t believe John XXIII was a valid Pope, calling a valid Council, that would be at least, problem #1.

If one doesn’t believe in the teachings of the Council, as approved by Paul VI, that is another problem.

If one is a cafeteria Catholic, picking and choosing what they believe and don’t believe, whether that artificial contraception is OK, or failure to wear a chapel veil is not ok, the problem is all the same.

1842 By faith, we believe in God and believe all that he has revealed to us and that Holy Church proposes for our belief.

One has to ask, do I believe in what Holy Church proposes for our belief, or not. That is the crux.
