The Lord warned us that the path to Eternal Life was narrow, but the road to destruction is wide. I believe we are seeing that road becoming narrower by each passing day.

Lynch...it takes one to know one.

and just ignore all those happy couples cruising in gay bars.

not true for most lesbians but that is another story.

” close to 1,600 years now, since it’s inception”

Fascinating, only 1,600 years? Care to elaborate who in your opinion founded the Catholic Church 1,600 years ago?

Let’s all get a history lesson from you.

Therefore, I do not wish to lend our voice to notions which might suggest that same-sex couples are a threat incapable of sharing relationships marked by love and holiness and, thus, incapable of contributing to the edification of both the church and the wider society.

Oh no. We wouldn't want to suggest *that*. /s

Someone should tear the inapplicable holy vestments off this guy and leave him standing there in his underwear.

But why would a flock put up with being shepherded by a wolf? Do they not have Bibles of their own? Can they not tell a wolf when they see one and get rid of him?

So homosexuals should be ...... fill in the blank. Beheaded, stoned, incarcerated? When someone beats me over the head with something I respond in kind. It is therefore very disarming when someone comes to me with love and understanding and then tells me where I am doing wrong.

I know this is a concept that eludes most conservatives. Everything does not have to be all or nothing. Liberals lack of reason is matched only by Conservatives(in most cases) lack of empathy.

Feel free to make an appointment with Bishop Lynch and "disarm" him with "love and understanding".

He’s as queer as a wooden nickle.

“Therefore, I do not wish to lend our voice to notions which might suggest that same-sex couples are a threat incapable of sharing relationships marked by love and holiness and, thus, incapable of contributing to the edification of both the church and the wider society”.

In his immoral, dimwitted view of the Gospel, sodomites engaging in anal sex are exhibiting “holiness”.

He’s a definite candidate for a red hat the next time Francis selects Cardinals.

You love the sinner, hate the sin they commit. We are talking about homosexual marriage here and that is a Mortal Sin!

Good. Be sure to bring a copy of the catechism and point out the relevant sections regarding homosexual activity, and remind him that as a Catholic Bishop, his duty is to "teach, sanctify and govern" -- not mislead, pervert and corrupt the souls God has placed in his care.

If you can’t get them to come and talk you can’t get them to see the disordered life they are living.

"Therefore, I do not wish to lend our voice to notions which might suggest that same-sex couples are a threat incapable of sharing relationships marked by love and holiness"

holiness: the state of being holy "a life of holiness and total devotion to God"

Describing relationships based on actions which are contrary to the precepts of natural law (of which God is the Author) as "marked by holiness" is deceitful and wicked. The surest way to encourage those living "disordered lives" to continue on that sinful path is to deceive them into believing there are "elements of sanctity" within relationships based on sinful acts. Such deception is the antithesis of charity.

The relationship really is only disordered if they engage in sex. Sex is not the best basis for any relationship. I get that this society is so sex blind that they just can’t get their heads around this point.
