When my grandmother was dying, I drove up to the hospital with my 10 year old daughter to spend the day with my grandmother, an aunt and uncle, at her bedside. Throughout the day, nurses would check her vitals, comfort us and care for others. My daughter wandered off to the patient lounge where she kept everyone entertained. As evening arrived, I set off in search of my daughter, planning to bring her back to my grandmother's room to say "good night" and take her home.

When we returned to my grandmother's room, I went to step in but an invisible force held me back. For lack of a better description, I could see into the room but it was as if a wall had been erected and I could not physically pass. Then I "heard a voice" (again, words fail to describe this since this was not an audible voice) say: "Get the baby out of here". The only person who referred to my daughter as "the baby", was my grandmother. Utterly bewildered by this strange event, I called out to my aunt and uncle sitting beside my grandmother's bed to explain I could not enter the room and would be taking my daughter back to my grandmother's apartment.

We took the elevator down to the parking lot and drove 20 minutes to Lake George and my grandmother's apartment. Shortly after we arrived, the phone rang. It was my uncle calling to say that my grandmother had passed. He said: "You could not have been in the hospital's parking lot, when she died". This memory remains as vivid as yesterday though she passed away 18 years ago.

Interesting.

Why do you think your grandmother told you to get your daughter away?

I have given up trying to relate the stories I have on this subject. People simply think I’m nuts or making it up. But I not only believe it, I know it.

Interesting.

From the article:

But Moody says you can’t explain away shared-death experiences by citing anoxia or anesthesia.

The day before my mother died, she turned to my father and said “I saw Yia-yia (my grandmother, her mother) last night and she said everything is going to okay.” My grandmother had died 15 years earlier.

My father came back from Hospice and told me that the end was near. For several weeks, my mother had been unable to communicate as the drugs or cancer had addled her brain. But at the moment she told my father about the visit from her mother, she spoke very clearly for the last time. She died the next day.

These clowns pretend we are here by accident and without purpose.

They refuse to acknowledge their limited understanding of “the laws of physics”.

Can they measure the energy that IS LIFE, in a living person?

If they can’t measure it during life, they can’t measure it when it leaves.

Yet, they deny it’s presence.

“the only evidence of afterlife experiences is “a few legends and sketchy claims from unreliable witnesses … plus a bucket load of wishful thinking.”
“We are made of atoms,” he says. “When you die, it’s like a candle being put out or turning off a laptop. There’s no substance that leaves the body. That’s a process that stops. That’s how the laws of physics describe life.””

I had an experience after my father died in ‘84 that was like nothing I have ever had before or since. When I went to bed the night of my fathers death I was exhausted. I turned out the light and pulled up the covers. When I closed my eyes I could see a scene in my minds eye. I was above the clouds looking down and moving very fast.

I immediately opened my eyes and the scene disappeared. I lay there until 4am seeing this strange vision until I realized that my fathers soul was soaring around the earth and he was taking me with him.

He loved to travel but didn't get much of a chance to do so. I felt very honored that he showed me what his soul was doing
. Finally I was so tired I told him good bye I had to sleep.
I will never forget that night.

And .. they think the universe was created by CHANCE .. and then they’re amazed when they discover the elements of life on far away planets.

Since I believe GOD created the Universe; I expect his life-substance would be in evidence on every planet.

“{The day before my mother died, she turned to my father and said “I saw Yia-yia (my grandmother, her mother) last night and she said everything is going to okay.”

The day my mother died, the priest “said the prayers” (you know the ones I mean) and soon thereafter mother saw her Yia-yia who had died 45 years earlier and had a conversation with her and the angels who were with her. I was there and mother was completely lucid. She4 died about 2 hours later.

For those of you who are not Ort5hodox, this is frankly a common, though completely wonderful occurrence.

Same here. I can only talk about this stuff with my father, who has had similar experiences, and one dear friend who has seen enough to know that I’m not making things up or crazy.

Stories like this have always fascinated me. I’m not sure I understand what happened. Do you think your grandmother’s request about your daughter had something to do with not wanting her to witness her death? Also I don’t understand your uncle’s reference to the garage-— did something happen in the garage?

This isn’t a near death experience but my friend’s father was dying, they put the movie Prancer in to keep the 2 yr old great-grandson occupied while everyone else was with him and as he took his last breath it was exactly at the point in the movie when they were singing “How Great Thou Art”.

I don’t think it was coincidence.
