Please show me where the Vatican is making statues. Show me a line item in a balance sheet where the sale of Vatican-made statues is.

They are heartily endorsed by Rome. So what's the difference?

Your position is a reach if your trying to hide behind Rome not making statues.

Jesus calls us to love everyone. If He wishes us to love our enemies, why would He not wish us to love His mother? Is she not included?

Catholics are not sola Scriptura. I appreciate concern for my soul. There are posts here that do not reflect that concern. Courtesy is appreciated. Prayer is appreciated.

We hold our Faith as dearly as anyone else. Correction in context is one thing. Insults to an entire faith are another. Our enemy is the devil, not one another. Our belief in Jesus remains our common ground. May He give us peace!

Continuing to repeat the many time debunked belief of catholicism regarding the #s of denominations makes you look silly.

wikipedia (every ones source) says 41,000 is a modest estimate

I think that applies to those who are here in earth. The chance to love Mary was available to the people who lived/walked with her. Do you "love" other people from antiquity?

Catholics are not sola Scriptura. I appreciate concern for my soul. There are posts here that do not reflect that concern. Courtesy is appreciated. Prayer is appreciated.

I've noticed catholics do not rely on the Bible as the ultimate source of authority and therein lies the problem. Relying upon the ECFs and man-made concepts is where beliefs get off course. This applies to any group of believers.

The tone is not intended to be harsh so I apologize if it comes across that way. The tone is a reflection of my concern for teaching contrary to the Word.

We hold our Faith as dearly as anyone else. Correction in context is one thing. Insults to an entire faith are another. Our enemy is the devil, not one another. Our belief in Jesus remains our common ground. May He give us peace!

You are correct...Satan is the enemy. What concerns me is that he has a lot of believers deceived into believing something that sounds nice and "Christian" but is not regarding Mary.

Catholic apologists have even admitted the immaculate conception cannot be supported from Scripture nor should the ECFs be relied upon. Yet catholics still cling to this. Why? Feelings? The pope said so?

We need to search the Word and compare it to what man says. If they agree, the teaching is sound...if not man's teaching is wrong and is to be discarded.

We've looked at the Morning Prayer to Mary. No one would substitute another "god" in that prayer and claim to be following Christ. Yet, if we put Mary's name in there it's somehow ok.

That's what is confusing to Christians.

Catholics will take wikipedia as a valid source....yet not the Word. Amazing.

Not until they put their full faith and trust in Jesus and not the man of the Catholic Church. Over and over we see comments made that indicate they will say anything to defend the cult of Catholicism. It's become obvious to me that they do not care one bit about what is in scripture. What the Catholic Church, in whom they put their faith, say is all they care about or listen to.

>just asking...how does Lazarus fit into that theory??<< I'll use the Catholic way to answer that. Scripture doesn't say he died a second time. Maybe he was assumed.

maybe...but the statement I questioned had to do with the man can only die once statement...how about Matthew's description of the aftermath of he crucifixion where graves were opened, many bodies arose...bodies, after they rose went into the holy city where they were seen by many.

Perhaps, just so these guys wouldn't have to die again, they ascended/were assumed....who knows

They use that as if it’s somehow going to change the truth of scripture. Instead of comparing all beliefs to scripture they try to point away from themselves to others. They also refuse to see the numerous different assemblies addressed in scripture. Not once in those letters to the different “church” was their any indication of an over all ruling organization.

Catholics do like to make doctrines and beliefs on assumptions don't they. The fact is that it doesn't matter.

It's obvious to anyone but Catholics that Mary was so insignificant to the people of that time, to the secular writers of history, to the apostles, and even to other religious writers that they didn't even keep track of or record where she spent her last days. Catholics should take a hint.

After Jesus said this, he told his disciples, "Our friend Lazarus is sleeping,

Oh darn, and I was always taught that Christ raised him from the dead...and all He did was wake him up.....I could have done that

so the truth of God’s Word is crazy to you? Figures.

why won’t the catholics just acknowledge that God’s Word doesn’t factor into your spiritual life?

This idol is in the Vatican Gallery......The pagan world worshiped this idol then and today calling her “Lunar Virgin”, “Mother of All”, “Diana Lucifera”, Isis (Eternal Goddess of All) and “Queen of Heaven”. Those that worshipped her (and worship her still) bought small statues and replicas of Diana (“silver shrines”). The silversmiths had a great business going selling idols until Paul came preaching that “they be no gods, which are made with hands”.

Of course her image continues today throughout the catholic church and those who choose to defy God and worship her>

Unfortunately their blindess will fooll even their own eyes....

But I think most disturbing about Catholics is the growing Us-Against-Them mentality..... . . their first response to any critique, criticism or critical examination of their religion is that it ,and they. are being unjustly attacked.

When confronted with some uncomfortable reality, they attack the messenger and label you a hate-filled anti-Catholic.

Still I also think deep down, Catholics are beginning to realize that there is something terribly wrong with their church.

There have been about four or five calls to have this thread pulled due to the nature of the information. Must be hitting close to home.

The Vatican sells nearly 400 products, most of which have religious, historic or artistic themes. The museum alone recently began offering an 18-karat gold medal depicting the statue of Laocoon—the pagan priest of Apollo .. Retail price? $840.

Visitors to the Vatican gift shop—or the new boutique it opened three months ago outside the Vatican walls—can buy rings, pins, necklaces or wristwatches. They can also cart away something a tad heavier, like a plaster bust of Julius Caesar for $270.

The potential for new bounty seems endless. Riccardi receives at least one unsolicited proposal a week from some company wishing to produce something “exclusively” for the Vatican........ The church has about 20 such arrangements now, mostly with Italian companies.

Neither the Vatican nor the companies will reveal the terms of these agreements.

That is usually their standard tactic. Stop the debate and truth is never revealed. Or should I say also one of satan’s tactics. We see this tactic also done by liberals today via political correctness and the like.

But we are not ignorant of his devices!
