I was thinking that Kasper would fit in more in ECUSA. Now Kasper is in line with Spong’s thinking, when will he be in agreement with Vicki Gene Robinson? Ick!
“The reason for having a third-party investigation of a marriage is that the two parties usually do NOT know, at the beginning of the investigation, all the facts which can shed light on the question of validity.”
From what I’ve seen, their is no investigation...
I have a friend who’s husband got an annulment after a 35 year marriage with 5 kids. They had, BTW, renewed their wedding vows in the church 10 year before their divorce.
She was not contacted by any tribunal at all. She just got a letter from the Church that her marriage had been annulled. She had a terminal illness at the time of the divorce and the annulment pushed her over the edge and she died. So what did the tribunal investigate? I was the best man at their wedding and they never contacted me, and clearly they didn’t contact her...
“What if the two wedding parties dont agree on their knowledge?”
That part doesn’t really matter. One party may be very sincere and if the other isn’t, the marriage is still invalid.
And who determines the sincere one? What if both are sincere? What if both are insincere?
Francis + Kasper = Big time losers.
So who you do think was sincere? The wife or the husband who left his wife and 5 kids after 35 years?
In your mind, was the marriage “sacramental” and indissoluble or not? If not, why did you agree to be best man to the scumbag?
“And who determines the sincere one?”
You miss the point , For the marriage to be valid BOTH have to be sincere. If either one isn’t, the marriage is invalid. Whether the other party is aware or not doesn’t matter...

It’s a tough call... She was pregnant when they married. In those days men often married women they knocked up. It probably wasn’t a valid marriage in the first place for that reason alone, However the Church didn’t care...
However they renewed their wedding vows in church 20 years later, which should have made it valid.
As for why I was his best man? I didn’t really know him, I was a friend of the bride...
It’s my opinion that he, with the aid of the Church killed her. It made me want to vomit when at the Mass the same jerk-off Priest that handled the Annulment for him talked about how “troubled” she was, and served up communion to him and his new wife...
So he’ll be the first one to believe the “wonders” of the anti-Christ which will probably be natural disasters and kill tons of people but not anything good, like healing the blind, deaf and crippled. The anti-Christ will not do one good thing but it will be impressive.
So now it sounds like you do think it was a sacramental and indissoluble marriage.
“So now it sounds like you do think it was a sacramental and indissoluble marriage.”
As I said, they had renewed their vows in the Church.
But I have no idea. And neater does the Church. So why the dog and pony show?
