Rick Santorum on Why We May Be 'One Generation Away' From Christian Persecution in America
The Christian Post ^ | 10/30/14 | Vincent Funaro

Rick Santorum recently stopped by CP Voice to discuss a new documentary he helped produce titled "One Generation Away" which deals with the perceived erosion of religious freedom in America.

The 2012 Republican presidential candidate believes that if Christians don't fight for their religious freedom in America they could risk turning this country into a place that persecutes them.

"If we don't nip it here, then things get a lot worse," said Santorum to CP Voice. "It starts with a gradual erosion, you don't usually go from 0 to 60 in a few days when it comes to religious persecution. It's something that grows over time."

He used the example of pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer in Nazi Germany who served in the nation that gradually went from a sophisticated, Christian country to a place that persecuted Jews and Christians fighting for freedom from Hitler's totalitarian regime. Bonhoeffer chose to speak out during the beginning of the rise of the Nazi party and eventually lost his life when things in the country drastically changed in just 10 years' time

I agree. People will get violent once the government FORCES THEM at gunpoint to teach that the Earth is billions of years old (instead of thousands, which is the truth) and that people “evolved” instead of being created as-is in the Garden of Eden.

The communists also want to teach kids that the U.S. Constitution was NOT based on the Bible! Revisionism at its worst!

Having read the article. Harassing pastors and poking a stick at religion is a start. I would not call it persecution. Not yet. What the Nazi's did was persecution.

Our current government is testing the waters. They are poking us with sticks to get a reaction. They are slowly poisoning the minds of children. This has all been done before. My entire life of the past almost 51 years has been this slow erosion of culture and religion.

Persecution is when they actually lock the pastors up like they do in Iran. Persecution is when they start executing pastors and others for what they believe and yes I do think they will go that far.

They have been slowly molding the children of this country. They have kids using homework assignments to inform on their parents about, drugs and weapons in the homes as well as racism. The left is the only bunch of people who will listen to every word spoken by an irrational child yet will not listen to one word of a learned adult who disagrees with them.

They have the public school kids. They don't need a daddy because the government will take care of them. You don't need mommy to fix you a breakfast or lunch, because they don't know what's best for you, the government will take care of it. The government tells women not to stay home with kids, they'll take care of it. Put the kid in daycare, the government subsidizes daycare and funds Head start. Get pregnant? Don't worry 13 year old girl the government will take care of it. Don't worry about your parents if they yell at you we will lock them up. I could go on.

But here is the part that scares them. Home schoolers and religious schools other than Muslim. They can't get to your kids. They want those kids. "Takes a Village", that was a direct threat. Either we back down or they are coming, it is just a matter of time.

I don’t think they think it’s as effective at corrupting children to teach Godless evolution and billions of years,

as it is to indoctrinate them into sexual perversion.

That’s where they will go (and are going) first.

If we don’t close our borders and kick the Muslim terrorists that hide among us in high level positions that the Obama administration appointed them to, expect it much faster.

I understand what you mean, but the education surely is “elite” since it’s not propaganda, but based on truth & facts.

Me thinks some Christians are about to stop the cheek slapping hands in their tracks and sell their cloaks.

I posted this in a thread the other day, but I think the fact that Americans are so heavily armed is the only thing keeping the fascists in check at this point.

If Americans were disarmed, instead of issuing a subpoena, my bet is the mayor would have sent JBTs to drag those preachers out of the pulpuit and “disappear” them.

He like most USAians is asleep. They’re beguiled and bewitched by the gods of the denominations they sit under. They share food sacrificed/prepared, over the altar/table of the principalities (primary gods) Baal and Ashtora/Ishtar, on their holi/appointed days.

He is incorrect, but for an unexpected reason.

Many of those who call themselves Christians, aren’t. And I’m not talking about minor doctrinal disputes, but in truly major ways. For example, denying the divinity of Jesus, or even disputing the existence of God.

Likewise, many of those who call themselves Christians embrace many other gods, engage in practices prohibited by the covenants, etc., ad nauseum.

Yet because they call themselves Christians, they will be held up as examples that “Christians are not being persecuted”, when clearly, real Christians are being persecuted.

rick you are out of touch. It is here right now and has been going on for several years already. If you are Christian, you are told that you cannot speak out against homosexuality, nor can you pray in school, and your children can tell on you at anytime to the supposed authorities. You cannot wear a cross to school, but you have to listen to Islam being praised, political correctness praised and that a family unit can be anything two daddies, two mommies , one mommy or one daddy or it can be a blended family. Soon to come to a neighborhood near you - a family as a dog as the parent.

We already have it and if we don’t do something to shore up religious liberty/speech it will get worse. People get jail time in the UK and Canada for unpopular speech something which we are already beginning to engage in. Remember that youtube video that the Obama admin was blaming for Benghazi? That guy got a year in jail for it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YwWydRg5wRs

They are pushing out leadership in the military that isn’t progay enough and actively trying to silence military chaplains which is a product of the repeal of DADT something which even some in this forum did not think was serious but of course that is just a reflection of people who don’t understand the left and the way they get inside and begin eliminating anyone who disagrees as well as institutionalizing the support for there position and criminalizing anyone who disagrees.

The same result is being seen with the rise of SSM. People said how will it hurt? How will it effect anyone? Yet it is. Christians are being sued and punished by the state for their beliefs and involuntary servitude is being pushed in a way that hasn’t been seen since the before the Civil war.

So what the USSR did was not persecution?

Any kind of intimidation attempts intended to restrict rights outlined under the Free Exercise clause of the First Amendment are persecution.

Santorum is right, someone appoint him and Huckaboo to the Culture War Committee and keep them away from national politics.

It has already happened in Houston. The Federal government is also persecuting Christians, using the IRS and the Federal Election Commission.

We will only see it get worse. "But he who endures to the end will gain a crown of life."
