Why has a misunderstanding of what Jesus Christ said ever been allowed to gain foothold in the RCC so that the church leader has to issue new guidelines on how to handle such attacks on marriage. it never gained a foothold...the media pushed the idea that there could possibly be a change, but that was NEVER possible

Trying to mind-read again?
A spurious accusatory inquiry having nothing to do with anything I posted to you. Your point, other than to report me to a mod without good cause is...?

Perhaps the reports you've received have been mistranslated by prot media members?

See? You live on an alternate sphere than I. Communication isn't conducive because you are adapted to cultic and personal esoteric definitions of words and ideas that have no foothold in reality. Like this statement of yours. the Pope is the titular head of Christianity...Catholics, being the epitome of Christian belief and the various Christian denominations are subject, in one way or another to his leadership.....That was Christ's intention and that's the way it is.

This is not correct. Nobody is in a superior position of authority over the Word of God. Certainly not you, not me, not the pope -— and he would be the first to tell you that.

You claim to know the intentions of The Lord Jesus Christ as you just stated?
Also, you are in error again. The Pope may proclaim himself the titular head of Christianity, but if so, the Pope would be gravely mistaken. But he can say he's President of the UN for all I am concerned about that silliness.
The Pope is the titular head of the Roman Catholic church, not EO, and certainly not the Church founded by Jesus Christ.
But you know that's how I see it; right? And I am aware of your indoctrination.

I know you love him as your Christian brother and realize how devout many RCs on FR are in your beliefs.
On the other hand, I and a few other FReepers prefer to talk about those things that are true (The Lord Jesus Christ and Him crucified, buried, risen, ascended to the Right Hand of all Authority) and not just a man-made sect's religious propaganda and showmanship.

What do you think about contraception?

You have better info than I since your are closer to Francis than I want to be. Non-RCC members are not all as certain as you.

Don't need it. Already have my family. Hoped for more arrows in the quiver but...
To: Resettozero
What if you did “need” it?

You tempting me, Tax-chick?
What if the sun arose in the west?
To: Resettozero
You tempting me, Tax-chick? Not in the slightest. I have no intention of tempting anyone, and little chance of it even if I wanted to.
If you don't want to answer the moral question, cebu.

Cebu is an island province in the Philippines, consisting of the island itself and 167 surrounding islands. Its capital is Cebu City, the oldest city in the Philippines...
Not sure how we got on the subject of contraception. It just kind of sprang out of thin air. Tell me why you ask me this off-topic question first.
To: Resettozero
It’s a test question about marriage. If you accept the morality of contraception, you have the concept of human creation and the nature of marriage wrong.
“Cebu” is a synonym for “whatever” in our private family language.

Truly, Tax-chick, I don't remember have given it consideration; I've never taken contraception unless my wife spiked my raspberry tea or apple cider. She doesn't take contraceptive measures either, if that were any of your business which it's not.
Aren't you getting a little too nosey? It's a religious (to you apparently) moral question that hasn't been pertinent to our marriage. Is it a trick question? What's your point in testing me about contraception? Is it something like testing the spirits?
To: Resettozero
The Pope is the titular head of the Roman Catholic church, not EO, and certainly not the Church founded by Jesus Christ. But you know that's how I see it; right? And I am aware of your indoctrination. the Pope, as titular head of the Catholic church automatically becomes head of all Christianity. The Catholic church IS Christianity and the various and many denominations that sprang off of the revolution are still part of Christianity.
I am not indoctrinated, I just read a lot and I know of what I speak....your disbelief changes nothing.

No, I’m not being nosy, because I’m not asking about your personal choices in life, but about a moral principle. If you don’t find it relevant, fine, whatever. Have a good evening.

"concept of human creation and the nature of marriage "
you were nothing if not specific in the bigger picture of your question. Some people may just be scared to discuss moral choices in a religious forum, I guess. Maybe their idea of religion doesn't contain all those fussy theological issues?
