One thing I enjoy about the Catholic church is how grand many of them are. I was raised Baptist and I do remember stained glass windows, an altar, pews, and a steeple when I was a child but since then many protestant churches have morphed, in some cases, into nothing more than office-looking buildings with folding chairs. When I go to a church I like the ambiance to reflect the Holiness of God. (For lack of better wording perhaps.)

I grew up in a wooden stained glass SBC church over 100 years old

My church here in franklin TN is a large event looking place

The reasons are practical...cheaper bldgs....larger congregations

Built around charismatic shares our ideology preachers

Most large churches outside the questionable self improvement group are conservative culturally

But their digs are sure less awe inspiring

For that you have to go downtown or way out country

I lived in London for 6 months....France has best cathedrals no question
