look -- I'm sorry they ran out of onions. you said onions. i asked for onions. they didn't have any onions -- "all out" they said. quit hassling me over this ok -- so it looks like i'm engaging in "mind reading" ...but we both know the real truth about this

They had onions after all, didn't they?

Considering there are what, 10-15 prods that post here with any regality and there must be 100 Papists doing the same. Chewing up bandwidth with Roman Catholic propaganda and bilge like this.

That wasn't whining, and you didn't have to hit the abuse button on me so many times. Look - I know that most DQs don't stock pineapple tidbits, but it wouldn't hurt you to ask, does it?

i told you how much i didn't like asking for all the extras.

it kind of puts me on the spot

so yes -- it does hurt me

after all we do...we minions are still required to beg for pineapple tidbits

do you have any idea how embarrassing that is?

they roll their eyes, then look at each other and laugh -- get a load of this guy -- here he is again

i tried driving to outlets further away to avoid having to face the same crews over and over, but how far can i go

that one time...oh boy...the drive was so long, by the time i got back you decided you didn't want the chili dog after all

the cats wouldn't even eat it

we can't let that sort of thing happen again -- so you said

hey, buy some air freshener, would you? just in case...

If I recall correctly, the original St. Patrick’s in New York, now in what’s Chinatown, was saved from the fate of the burned church in Philadelphia by the Cardinal making it clear he wouldn’t hold back Catholic mobs from doing the same to Protestant churches should a Protestant mob touch it.

The Cardinal had admitted that he exercised control over Catholic mobs?

The early arrivals were mostly Protestants, descendants of the Scots who were resettled in Ireland after the conquest by England. The later arrivals were mostly Catholic Irish. Both were working class, especially weavers, and they didn’t like each other any better in America than they had in Ireland. Most of the rioters were drawn from these two groups, but the excuse for the fighting has other causes....Matters came to a boiling point on May 3, 1844 when the nativists tried to hold a rally at the Nanny Goat Market near St. Michael’s. The rally was broken up by an Irish Catholic mob....while almost all of the damage done was to Catholic property, most of the known fatalities were Protestants. The reasons generally given, Milano notes, were the Protestant mob was on the unprotected streets, the Catholics were firing from buildings, and also some members of the Protestant/nativist mob were shot by the troops called in to put down the riots. Milano believes there were some Catholic deaths that were not counted, but if this were so, one might wonder why there are no records of them in the Catholic cemeteries. One direct result of the riots was the consolidation of all the little townships in Philadelphia County into the city itself, the creation of a unified police force, the dissolution of volunteer fire companies and the development of a separate Catholic school system. The lessons for today: we are all descended from immigrants; remember how your ancestors were treated and don’t repeat the mistakes of their persecutors. Secondly, the First Amendment to the Constitution not only guarantees freedom of religion, it guarantees freedom of assembly. Even if you don’t agree with the speakers you shouldn’t start a riot.

"Quick question. Besides Muslim terrorists, should the whole religion of Islam be consider anti-Catholic as well? Thank- you for your response. :)"

=============================================================

Well, their teachings deny the Divinity of Jesus Christ, and their ideas of God are not at all compatible with Christian views of God, so their teachings directly contradict the Catholic Church in many ways.    In that sense, I would see them all as being anti-Catholic, even though they are not all murderous terrorists.

164 sticks "A large part of what here is called anti Catholic is specifically anti Christian. I must say I have a keen appreciation for the Catholic Church’s current (as in my lifetime) unwillingness to give in to political correctness as compared to many main stream Protestant churches that have shown their hand now as not being Christian. I.E. birth control, homosexuality, abortion, etc."

=============================================================

I agree.    There are some Catholics and some other Christians who strongly support the truth on these vital moral issues today, and some of each of those groups who do not.

Those of us who do take those moral issues seriously should stand together, to be a stronger voice for morality in this warped culture.

That sounds like he was trying to act like a father might to protect his family from the bad guys.

I keep forgetting, in 1492, when Isabella threw the Jews and Muslims out of Spain, was that being cautious or was that being over bearing?

I cant get the two straight after reading those defending the inquisition here...

” I agree. There are some Catholics and some other Christians who strongly support the truth on these vital moral issues today, and some of each of those groups who do not.”

Those who do not support the truth have no truth in them and Jesus is not known by them. They are NOT Christians. A prime example is the amount of Catholics and Evangelicals (not to mention the far left denominations that have queer pastors, etc.) that vote Democrat; the party of three BOOs against God at their national convention, private property redistribution, and the killing of innocents.

“Those of us who do take those moral issues seriously should stand together, to be a stronger voice for morality in this warped culture”

I concur. And maybe stop attacking each other over liturgical differences?

Sound like you didn't check one of the recently supplied links to another FR thread; Philadelphia’s immigration lessons: How fear and hatred led to 19th century riots, which had link to the source for that article http://catholicphilly.com/2013/06/news/local-news/local-catholic-news/philadelphias-immigration-lessons-how-fear-and-hatred-led-to-19th-century-riots/ where you would have been able to see;

Meanwhile Bishop Kenrick, who issued an order to temporarily close the Catholic churches and pleaded for an end of violence, took refuge in the country.

Substitute where I wrote ‘wouldn’t’ with ‘couldn’t’ and it will be closer to what was meant by the person who related the information to me. Sorry for the confusion.
