If O’Malley and his girlfriend Donna Wuerl want to get “married” he needs to convert to the Episcopal Church. Not in a million years will the Catholic Church accept homo “marriage”.

Absolutely disgusting. Are we about to see the death of the Church? Those who keep trying to limit church contact to only those 'worthy' of it will destroy it from the inside. The passage cited is from Romans:
"1Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. 2And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
"
It doesn't tell us to waste our time and efforts stopping the evil that society will become (God already told us it will be a cesspool before Jesus returns - if we believe that, we should believe we will not stop the moral down-slide), it tells us to not allow ourselves to be sucked into the things that society "normalizes". We can handle our own spiritual conditions - we can't stop others from their sins. All we can do is carry the message and try to be good examples/witnesses. Yet we spend so much time and effort trying to stop what God has said will happen that we miss many opportunities to carry His Word.

RE: St. Athanasius - amen. The priest who baptised me, Fr. Fred Schell SJ (RIP), one of the last old-school Jesuits, spoke of the Church at the end of the world comprising one bishop and a couple of faithful rotting in a dungeon somewhere.
