In a country where what ranking a book on prophecy has on the Bestseller List usually determines how widely accepted an interpretation is it's good to see someone that sticks to the Scripture as so many who claim to rely on "Scripture Alone" don't.

So, based on these scriptures Jesus is in outer space and will descend to rescue us.

Think about that for a few minutes.

Should we all be wearing identical Nike shoes when he arrives?

2 Thessalonians 2 explicitly tells of when the Return of the Messiah will be and it is not to save anyone before the tribulation.

After The Tribulation

Let no man deceive you about the return of the Lord. No secret rapture. He comes for all believers (his saints). Matthew 24:29ff.

I have to admit that the fact that HE hasn’t returned shakes my faith.

What about this passage? Has Egypt ever been inhabitable? I believe this prophecy to be true and before Christ comes back to save the coptic Christians out of Egypt, Egypt will be inhabitable for 40 years, we can be sure that has not happened yet.

Eze 29:10 Behold, therefore I am against thee, and against thy rivers, and I will make the land of Egypt utterly waste and desolate, from the tower of Syene even unto the border of Ethiopia.

Eze 29:11 No foot of man shall pass through it, nor foot of beast shall pass through it, neither shall it be inhabited forty years.

Eze 29:12 And I will make the land of Egypt desolate in the midst of the countries that are desolate, and her cities among the cities that are laid waste shall be desolate forty years: and I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries.

Eze 29:13 Yet thus saith the Lord GOD; At the end of forty years will I gather the Egyptians from the people whither they were scattered:

Eze 29:14 And I will bring again the captivity of Egypt, and will cause them to return into the land of Pathros, into the land of their habitation; and they shall be there a base kingdom.

“The Answer should Shock You”

The “answer” is only shocking as to how far it goes with mis-handling scriptures and using them to promote ideologies that are so far from scripture as to be abominable to God according to His own words.

Even if the passage being used does give special preeminence to Egypt, does that really conclusively mean those who are saved in Egypt are specifically Copts?

God will also save Israel. Does that mean He approves of their abortion, their homosexual parades, their total abandonment of His laws in the land today?

Of course not. Israel will first be brought to repentance. Likewise, anyone saved from Egypt will have also been brought to repentance, whether they were born into Islam, or some form of Christian observance.

When Christ returns, He will gather His elect from the four winds of heaven (global), not just Egypt. Among them will be people from every nation and every language. There will be people who grew up in Coptic homes and people who grew up in Muslim homes, but turned to the true God and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Old Testament prophecies about Egypt will be fulfilled in God’s time, but it is the height of foolishness to twist them to claim, “Thus saith the Lord”, when the Lord has not spoken thus.

This prophecy is no more of an endorsement of Coptic and Catholic heresies and unbiblical practices than it is of the Muslim religion.

While my heart go out to persecuted Copts, it is not good to try to force the latest news headlines into an interpretation of scripture.

The prudent will be forewarned and escape judgment.

While we won't be going to Egypt anytime soon, we can certainly take in an Orthodox Divine Liturgy. I've been to one Orthodox Church in Chicago (talk about "eye candy" as Fr. Z would say), one where an icon was weeping. This is an interesting article, although Matt 24:40 seems to say something else. God love the persecuted Coptic Christians; persecution coming our way too. Pray like monks, and pray for them too.

Ignorance in motion!

Yeshua cannot come until Satan is cast out of the throne room to Earth, and tribulates the saints for 3.5 years.
