The work of God IS to believe. All other works are poured forth out of belief. If one says a sinner’s prayer truly believing then at that twinkling of an eye they are saved forever. They are born again, translated from the kingdom of darkness into God’s glorious Kingdom of Light. Old things are passed away, behold all things have become new. If they are really saved then other works will proceed out of a heart that has been made alive by The Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ died for us once for all times. Please do not think that He needs to be crucified over and over for you to remain saved. When He gave up His last breath, He said “it is finished”. The work of salvation was wrought by His perfect life being sacrificed to pay for all of our sins. We were buried with Him, and raised with Him. Praise be to God who lives forever.

Well, no.

“On the evening of that first day of the week, when the doors were locked, where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst and said to them, “Shalom.”
When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again, “Shalom. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.” And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained.””

>>Odd - you want people to “post or use the official positions of any of the Protestant denominations” but you claim that such things do not exist?<<

Of course they exist. I have never stated otherwise. What you don't seem to comprehend (not that I'm surprised) is that I don't "belong" to nor am I a part of those denominations. Anyone who understands what the body of Christ or the assembly of Christ really is would understand that.

. . . if you can fully and faithfully interpret Scripture, why did Our Lord appoint men to that for us after He Ascended into Heaven?

To fill out the complement of men who were to teach and write as walking in the Spirit, writing down His Inspired Words. Jesus commissioned his Apostles (including Paul, later) to record and teach all His Commands (Mt. 28:20).

He commanded them to record his oral sayings that they may be preserved (Jn. 20:31). And that individuals future generations might read, translate, interpret, expositorally teach, and apply the Holy Word.

"If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself" (Jn7:17 AV).

And why are there so many conflicting dogmas in the schismatic and often heretical separated congregations?

The New Testament writers are not here to interpret their Scriptures; but the Holy Ghost is, Who is still able to guide His Own into correct translation, interpretation, and exposition, contending now for The Faith against the misguided false prophets.

"That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand" (2 Thess. 2:2 AV)

All this was prophesied (Mt. 24:11,24; 2 Pet. 2:1; 1 Jn. 4:1). Just make sure that you are not a purveyor of false doctrine. God can take care of the rest, without your help. Or mine.

But God desires that every regenerated believer-disciple ought to become spiritually mature enough to teach others that are not as mature:

"For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat" (Heb. 5:12 AV).

Be sure you are not one resisting God's Will in this assignment of tasks in the Kingdom.

A person who rejects Jesus is not saved.

That does not equate to Jesus death not being adequate to save that person.

Jesus doesn’t force people to be saved, but His death is adequate for each and every person to be saved, if they so choose.

Catholics who keep using that Satanic Tactic should be aware of who they are emulating.

Trust me, you could be facing eternal damnation with a statement like that.

Odd - you want people to “post or use the official positions of any of the Protestant denominations” but you claim that such things do not exist?

It's only odd understandings of what others say that lead to the error that either CB or I claim *such things do not exist*>

Virtually every denomination has a statement of faith. That does not mean they are *the one true church*. It merely means that they have a statement of faith about what they believe.

Here are a few for your perusal.

OK, which denomination do you both accept as the “One True Church” and where is the website that has the “official positions” of that [particular sect?

That is the question I have asked both in the past and received the same hooey for an answer.

Can't say as I blame them; Cult members don't like to name the devil that spawned them.

Argument? You and CB challenged us to post the beliefs protestants hold. I did so. How is that an “argument”?

You asked me to post that, remember?

Which one holds to the odd beliefs that you and Cynical Bear post so often?

Let’s not bring in irrelevant side issues, or try to bring cross-post references in across threads, if you please, eh? That gets too confusing.

How does (believing that you are) eating Him accomplish that?

So you have to accept Him over and over again? Didn't He stay the first time?

Really? When posters ask me to show the beliefs that we find odd, or not conforming to Catholic thought, I should refrain from answering that? Why?

“‘I am the living bread which came down from heaven; if any one eats of this bread, he will live for ever; and the bread which I shall give for the life of the world is my flesh.’ The Jews then disputed among themselves, saying, ‘How can this man give us his flesh to eat?’” (John 6:51–52).

“Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you; he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him” (John 6:53–56).

That's the whole point of doing it.

They do that because they can't defend their position or accusations, so they deflect.
