Catholic and Orthodox patriarchs of the Middle East have denounced attacks on Christians and called upon the international community to work toward eradicating terrorist groups.
The patriarchs met on Wednesday at the Maronite Catholic patriarchate at Bkerke, north of Beirut, for a special summit to address the crisis in the region. They were later joined by the United Nations’ special coordinator in Lebanon and the ambassadors of the five permanent member-countries of the UN Security Council.
“The very existence of Christians is at stake in several Arab countries – notably in Iraq, Syria and Egypt – where they have been exposed to heinous crimes, forcing them to flee,” the patriarchs said in a statement after the summit and meeting with diplomats.
They lamented the indifference of both Islamic authorities and the international community over attacks against Christians, who have been in the region for 2,000 years.
“What is painful is the absence of a stance by Islamic authorities, and the international community has not adopted a strict stance either,” the patriarchs said.
“We call for issuing a fatwa that forbids attacks against others,” they said.
“The international community cannot keep silent about the existence of the so-called ISIS,” the patriarchs said, referring to the Islamic State. “They should put an end to all extremist terrorist groups and criminalise aggression against Christians and their properties.”

Get all those Swiss guards together and get out there and whip ISIS. That should work.

The police and military of where those groups LIVE have the responsibility to "eradicate" them...stop, try, convict and jail/execute them.
Israel's secret police are undoubtedly on that mission right now. My money's on them.
I think at this point, ISIS has the rest of the muslim world swooning. I think you may be right.
ISIS is the only thing that muslims really understand, and accept. They flock to it like moths to a flame. It’s time for modern age crusades, where we can regrettably end it within 2 hours. If we attacked ISIS would the islamic world help, or would they support ISIS?
Nothing is going to be done like what should be done until it’s literally us or them. Even if a nuke went of in DC, or Rome, or London. I doubt we would nuke them. We’d send our armies in, but I doubt we’d nuke them.

Al Qaeda kicked ISIS out of their group. I heard that on O'Reilly the other day.
O'Reilly's comment--think how vicious they must be for Al Qaeda to boot them. There is no "swooning" over ISIS/ISIL.

Also, you need only GOOGLE it to see that the majority of Muslims are NOT Arabs.

Faiths are just ideas. Ideas can't be eradicated. Only the people who follow those ideas can be eradicated. There are 1.6 billion Muslims in the world (GOOGLE). Are you suggesting that they ALL be eradicated?
Jesus taught by the WORD. Christians today have to do the same. The sWORD isn't the Christian way to do things.
Or do YOU propose to go down to the level of the SWORD to achieve your goals? If you do, then you are no better than they are.
Advice to Christian churches around the globe: Shed your Christian Pacifism. “Turn the other cheek” refers to insults, not genocide. Tell your flock to quit being sheep, and become wolves. Go sell your cloak and buy a sword. NOW!
God commands there shall be times when the plow must be beaten into the Sword. I do not relish such. I hate war. Should each of us decide to surrender, because surrender is one of our options then surrender. I choose to fight. If am wrong ... God will punish me.
I know what Revelation says. I have read it before. That is also for the end of the world. Since we don't know when that is, the best we can do is stay READY for our own demise. THAT is pretty simple.

Whether Catholics and humanity generally want to acknowledge it, the adjective ‘radical’ being used to define Islam is only a weak mental exercise to avoid facing the reality of ‘true’ Islam. All Islam followers, yes, even so called ‘moderates,’ are ticking time bombs. We see this situation before us every day. One day the moderate wakes up, opens the Koran, reads a blood thirsty verse or two and decides he must become a ‘true’ believer to please Allah. The rest of the story we know all too well. The reason behind the conversion is the seductiveness of the Devil and an individual’s willingness to worship Lucifer. There can be no question that the mass, unjustified, random, and willful killing of God’s creation is the work of the Devil. Demonic possession is the Devil’s game. So called sophisticated individuals refuse to acknowledge evil or the Devil so we continue on the path we are on.
