There was to be a Black Mass performance at the Oklahoma City Civic Center on September 21, using a consecrated Host. But after Oklahoma City Archbishop Paul Coakley succeeded in getting a judge to issue a restraining order, on the grounds that the Host had been stolen, the attorney for the Satanic group returned the Host to a Catholic priest. The archbishop then dropped his lawsuit.
Here is how the story played out over the summer. When we learned of this scheduled performance, we issued a news release on July 2 calling attention to what a Black Mass entails. We quoted directly from the website of the Satanic group: The consecrated host is corrupted by sexual fluids then it becomes the sacrifice of the mass. The blasphemy remains intact along with corruption of the Catholic Mass. The person who was to lead this obscene event is Adam Daniels, a registered sex offender.

I’m so.. speechless
I told you guys that the guys pulling this stunt are nerd athiest idiots that worship Satan in name only for attention...they don’t even believe in him.
Praise God!
Good. Satanists go play in traffic!
I bet he gets the last laugh.
The article is not clear to the question of will the satanists still hold their event in OKC.
That’s racist!
> .they dont even believe in him.
I bet he gets the last laugh.
Probably unless they see the light which I hope they do.

Yep. Just some tool manipulating the easily-provoked for amusement and personal gratification. Sadly, the tool still gets to claim a perverse victory in having garnered so much attention.
If they believed in Satan they would have to believe in God, for Satan is a fallen angel that originally was created by God.
If they aren't then no one is.
The First Amendment was intended to maintain freedom to criticize the government. Many other kinds of ‘expression’ like slander and pornography were never intended to be protected.
It’s not really so obvious when it comes to satanists and atheists, but it is proper to ask if, say, Jews and Hindus could be prohibited from their practices as well.
“Nixed” usually implies that a thing. “will not happen”. This article doesn’t say that, only that the host was returned.
That's not true. The First Amendment applies to them as to everybody else. These are human rights which are founded in something more fundamental, even, than the U.S. Constituution.
Why not?
(Yahoo: Daniels said the Angra Mainyu will instead use Black Forest bread from Germany in its ceremony, set for Sept. 21 at the Civic Center in Oklahoma City. The use of Black Forest bread, Daniels said, is a practice that dates back to the 1600s.
The Black Mass of Oklahoma has been held for several years and has faced resistance from state and local leaders as well as setting off anger in a state where many identify themselves as deeply religious Christians.
The black mass is a modern ritual to celebrate the perversion of the Catholic Mass, Angra Mainyu said. The group will also hold a Satanic exorcism, designed to drive out the "Holy Ghost" from a person, it said.)
