One could argue that a number of religions have strange practices.

As a Catholic, I take issues with these practices and beliefs in my Church.

1) Compulsory clerical celibacy-—Nothing in the Bible mandating such a draconian policy, in fact priests and bishops in the Bible were married men.

2) The belief that Mary herself was conceived of an immaculate conception, even though no mention of this in the Bible.

3) Belieft that Mary was ALWAYS a virgin even though Jesus’s brothers and sisters are mentioned in the Bible.

4) The idea that the Pope is “infallible” is patently laughable. Popes, like the rest of us mere mortals, are sinners and do make mistakes from time to time.

I suppose we could find faults with all religions including our own from time to time.

Do you find fault with Catholic teaching about Mormonism?

You say you are a Catholic? Yet the examples you use of Catholic doctrines are either somewhat garbled or seriously misstated, showing a disturbing lack of understanding.

I think you would be freer of internal contradictions if you would either accurately learn and profess the actual Catholic doctrines, or leave the Catholic Church as a matter of honesty.

There's way too many people in the Catholic Church who in fact reject Catholic faith and morals.

I myself would not be a member of an organization whose beliefs and practices I did not accept.

What do you think?

The only thing patently laughable is someone posting claiming to be a “catholic” who clearly has no idea of what catholic beliefs are. Normally I would suspect the person is not a catholic at all, after all how could someone have such ignorance of the faith they claim to hold, but sadly I have met so many ignorant “Catholics” that nothing surprises me anymore.
