Magic Underwear & Magic Food

Mormons have some really weird beliefs. For example, many (all) Mormons believe they (males only) can take a cooking/salad oil, pour just a small drop on the crown of your head and their god will heal them of almost anything.

Mormons believe that by wearing ugly underwear bought from a specific company, their god will protect them from harm.

Mormons believe that by wearing a really weird looking costume they are taught secret ways to touch angels so after they die, the angels will let Mormons get into heaven quicker.

Mormons believe their god requires women to not wear outer clothing that covers their crotch (pants) to worship their god in a large and spacious room (chapel).

Mormons believe that a little torn piece of bread and a small sip of water that has been chanted over and then swallowed will require their god to forgive them for their sins.

Mormons believe by consuming certain foods and wearing funny looking clothes god loves them more than the rest of the humans.

It is the same with all parents. We love our children more or less depending upon how ugly their clothes are and how they consume small bits of food items.

The Mormon god must have a sense of humor watching his "SPECIAl" children called Mormons think this makes god love them the most.

Not bigotry, truth although LDS would word it differently.

Thank you all for, IMHO, properly addressing this.

I am LDS. The things listed in this article are either flat our wrong, or gross exagerations posted by people who, for whatever reason, have an axe to grind against the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

I have posted, on numerous occassions, my own sinccere and steadfast witness for Jesus Christ in an effort to help balance the scales.

MY WITNESS FOR JESUS CHRIST
http://www.jeffhead.com/jlhwitness.htm

But, sadly, in all probablility that will not matter.

I am sure that this thread will stretch out to hundreds and hundreds of posts, 90% of which will be the smae four or five individuals endlessly posting their reasons why the LDS Church is horrible.

Fine. That is their right. I do not take issue with them posting whatever they please within Jim Robinson’s rules and allowances.

I did notice your posts, and simply wanted to thank you for them. Several of you I have known and interacted with for many years on this fourm.

Well, now I better “duck and cover,” because I am sure there will be quite a bit of incoming because I had the audacity to post this. Hehehe...I would not expect any less...and am sure they will kepp themselves busy in the echo chamber for quite some time.

But, I wrote this post to you folks...not to them.

Bravo Zulu, and God’s speed and blessings to each of you.

Yeah Mormonism. Are you aware of the inherent violence against the non LDS that is part of LDS theology?

From their own history of their church...

The Prophet inculcates the notion, and it is believed by every true Mormon, that Smith’s prophecies are superior to the laws of the land. I have heard the Prophet say that he would yet tread down his enemies, and walk over their dead bodies; and if he was not let alone, he would be a second Mohammed to this generation, and that he would make it one gore of blood from the Rocky mountains to the Atlantic ocean; that like Mohammed, whose motto in treating for peace was, ‘the Alcoran or the Sword.’ So should it be eventually with us, ‘Joseph Smith or the Sword.’ These last statements were made during the last summer. The number of armed men at Adam-ondi-Ahman was between three and four hundred” (History of the Church 3:167).

Later prophets also taught blood atonement, not just against Mormons but against non Mormons (aka Gentiles). To say they follow a peaceful god is to say Muslims also follow a peaceful god.

You should care before then. BTW, their leaders taught blood atonement of apostates and gentiles (that means you).

And souls are more important than politics. That is why we care.

It goes back to the idea that pants are immodest. That is why they wear dresses/skirts. Also their garments (at least when I was LDS) were open crotched.

Your comment seems to be suggesting that you regard Mormonism as a legitimate religion. I don’t. It is simply another false religion.

But I suppose that if you support the idea that whatever religion you do believe in is advanced by mocking some other false religion, have at it. How that works to bring souls to salvation is beyond me. Perhaps if you give what I’m saying a little more thought, you’d realize that the post was not about religion, but about politics.

Well, Jeff...how about listing all these "flat out wrong or gross exagerations"?

Specifically, list the posts you disagree with that plainly include mormon sources...that would be informative.

BTW, you mentioned Jim Robinson but didn't ping him. That isn't polite.

Do you believe that Jesus is Uncreated?

Do you believe that Jesus created the angels?

Do you believe that He created the entire universe - out of nothing?

Are they? No, they are not exaggerations, they are commonly spoken of within lds circles, perhaps not as explicitly here, since it is not good PR for lds to do so.

I am LDS. The things listed in this article are either flat our wrong, or gross exagerations posted by people who, for whatever reason, have an axe to grind against the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Please explain.

Galatians 1:6-9English Standard Version (ESV) No Other Gospel

6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7 not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.

.

2 Corinthians 11 New International Version (NIV)

Paul and the False Apostles

11 I hope you will put up with me in a little foolishness. Yes, please put up with me! 2 I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him. 3 But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. 4 For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the Spirit you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.

---.

12 And I will keep on doing what I am doing in order to cut the ground from under those who want an opportunity to be considered equal with us in the things they boast about. 13 For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. 15 It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.

Thank you. Although I do not agree with all of the teachings of your faith I have nothing against it. Most of the people I know who belong to your Church are extremely outstanding individuals.

My Church is certainly in no position to be casting aspersions on other churches especially after all we’ve been through in recent years with the absolutely horrendous homosexual/pedophile priest scandal. We still have a huge mess to clean up. Here in my archdiocese we have to grapple with a $660 billion settlement we must pay to the victims of this monstrous scandal. Of course no dollar amount could ever compensate the damages to the victims.

Stop with “claims” nonsense! I’m sick of it! I AM a Catholic! And I’m tired of being told if you don’t do or believe ABSOLUTELY EVEYTHING the Church says you are not a good Catholic. The Archbishop is my archdiocese says we should accept illegal immigration in our country. I STRONGLY DISAGREE. Other Catholics tell me that if I don’t receive Holy Communion on my tongue I am not a good Catholic. I even have one friend who says you must go to a Latin Mass to be a good Catholic. I’m soooooooooooooooo sick and tired of all of the religious correctness!!!!!!!

Will believing EXTRA things count against a person?

Good question, also just believing one way or another does not make something a fact and both sides of the argument has their good points.

John 3:18 and 6:28-29 is the key in my mind.
