The so-called "God Gap" between Republicans and Democrats continues to play an important role in partisan differences, according to a new Gallup poll.
Among very religious Americans, about half, 49 percent, identify as Republican or are likely to vote Republican. Among nonreligious Americans, also about half, 52 percent, identify as Democrats or are likely to vote for Democrats.
This God gap, sometimes called the "religious participation gap," has characterized party politics in the United States for at least the seven years that Gallup has been measuring it, Frank Newport, editor in chief for Gallup, pointed out in a blog post.
Religiosity was measured using two survey questions. One asked respondents how important religion is in their daily lives. The other asked how often they attend religious services. With the answers, Gallup created a three category classification — very religious, moderately religious and nonreligious.

Considering the dems are the party that booed the mention of God at their convention, this is hardly a stunner.
As long as we’re playing word games, I know of an ethnically-related “homework gap.”
Next, Gallup finds that walking on two feet is easier than hopping about on one leg...
Christians are mostly republicans,
anti-Christians are mostly democrats.
They just use the terms “religious” and “non-religious” as cover words.
Then let’s talk about the “bastard gap”.
Another shock-o-roonie! Gallup is really hitting it out of the park today.
Oh, Dems have a “god,” but his name begins with an “S.”
LOL.
Democrats just think they are non-religious.
They worship government.
Well, of course. If God is God, the State can’t be God.
About fifteen years ago, and I can’t believe how time flies, I heard Pat Buchanan state in an interview that the reason Liberals are anti-traditional American is because they hate Christianity. I think he was correct, and things are worse now.
And a similar poll of church members will also show that those who are light on doctrine but heavy on social issues are also democrats.
No you-know-what, Sherlock.
NYT will investigate then recommend a new Federal Po Gwam.
The non-religious primarily vote Democrat because they put their faith in government. QED.
That fact accounts for such polling info today.
Those who consider themselves "conservative" today should have been restoring those ideas, in order to citizens to be equipped to protect their liberty from the tyrannical ideas which dominate the progressives who are bringing tyranny by government, not individual liberty and freedom.

I know a good number of Catholics and nearly all Jews are dims...
At this point I don’t give a rat’s-ass bit of crap which denomination or set of beliefs they follow.
What is important is that it seems Conservatives (and some Republicans) believe in the intent of the Constitution as it was written where democrats do not.
Believe in, support, defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic FIRST and those beliefs will be protected.
We’re in a fight for the Republic and the Constitution; not a fight over who holds what set of beliefs.
It is time. For the Constitution; for the Republic.
