A Final Adios from DrSteveJ

From ksen | 07/30/2004 2:04:11 AM PDT read

DrSteveJ has finally used the last of his nine lives this evening. He has been banned, not suspended, for posting an NOAA gif.

Anyway, he has asked that you all be notified and told

“Adios” on his behalf.

If you need to email him he can be reached at

____@yahoo.com

Well folks, another one bites the dust.

Oh the characters we have lost over the years.

I think I shall tip a forty to the ground for them in there honor.

Philip Johnson, a 5-point Calvinist used the phrase “extreme type of Calvinism” is his expalanation of hyper-Calvinism; and even I would not put DrSteveJ in that category, so saying that drstevej was a very hyper-Calvist is not out of line.

Which makes the claim even more hilarious, as drstevej always maintained that he was an Amyraldian i.e. a four-point Calvinist who took issue with "limited atonement".

Is it Saturday yet?

That’s interesting. I don’t recall him staking out that position.

It’s also interesting that most leading Calvinists assert that if all five points are not true, then none of them are true. There is some logic to such a position.

I think the Synod of Dort went too far with TULIP. If they had not taken the extreme position on the TULI, which I think they did because it was the complete opposite of what they thought the Arminians were claiming.

To me, perseverance of the saints is totally Biblical

I don’t recall him staking out that position.

That doesn't surprise me in the slightest, what with everyone and their dog being accused of being a "hyper-Calvinist" in those days.

What’s unacceptable about a NOAA GIF?

DonMorgan was an SOB Junior Gestappo who got a lot of people banned. Good riddance.

Yeah, I miss Willie.

Actually, I miss baiting him with "Trains are a sub-optimal means of transportation in certain parts of the country. Discuss." then stepping back to listen to the three hour rant.

Is it too early (late?) to ask: what’s wrong with a NOAA gif?

Yeah, I miss Willie.

He said he was a transportation engineer. His ideas were small scale but he expected them to work worldwide.

Sinkspur turned out to be a fraud and was shown the door.

I thought his posts were fun.

wasn’t it the Great Religion Forum Relic Thread that did him in? I remember those days. Actually learned a lot. There was a hyper Catholic by the name of Herman in those days who I spent a long snow day sparring with. Barking mad, and maintained thAt he was the only true Catholic in his SSPX parish

LOL! Was just trying to remember who that was.

The saddest losses were those that insisted on supporting that NY mayor for pres. He ended up not even running! What a waste.

How was Sinkspur a fraud? The one I thought was among the most distasteful posters on the site was “Demidog”, a libertarian who was constantly accused of being in support of child pornography.
