The Key Scroll sounds like it would be a good subject for an Indiana Jones movie.

It is not from the first century, it is from the destruction of the First Temple, centuries before.

hmmm. If God wants it to be found, it will be. I think it would be great if they could find some of the original pieces from the Temple and use them in the third Temple. Of course, I will go into hiding at that point.

"What if finding the treasures of the Copper Scroll did in fact lead to the Ark of the Covenant being found?"

I've never understood the obsession with the Ark of the Covenant, except as an interesting historical artifact. It was used by God as his earthly Mercy Seat during the time of Moses up to the destruction of the First Temple. We now have God's written Word; and Jesus and the Holy Spirit are directly accessible and available to us anytime and anywhere, without need for other intermediaries and paraphernalia.

A) John saw the real Ark in the Heavenly Temple; that certainly is not on earth.

B) The Ark, as well as all the other Temple artifacts, and the Temple itself, were earthly copies & representations, made by human hands of earthly materials, patterned on what God showed Moses, when He instructed him on Mt Sinai.

C) Jesus superseded the earthly Temple, rendering it, and all artifacts associated with it--including the long missing earthly Ark, powerless pieces of furniture and utensils.

D) The Final Temple is not built of human hands:

Rev 3:12
Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.
KJV

Like Moses's brazen serpent, I believe that God saw to it that the earthly Ark was destroyed, lest it become an idol and snare, worshipped for itself.

Some believe that the Ark John saw in the HEavenly Temple is the Ark of Moses, but it is not credible that 1) God would have that made by human hands and earthly hands profaning His Heavenly Temple; and 2) that the Mercy Seat would only date from the time of Moses, when we know that the entire Controversy was caused by Satan wanting to sit upon it, rather than guard it, as was his appointed task as the Cherubim That Covereth.
