To Preface, this is not pro-Cantor post, he’s gone, to hell with him.
Now then, a lot of people on this thread are saying “So, who cares?”. Lord Levin, himself a Jew, says says it doesn’t matter and the GOP should stop “chasing genitalia” and ethnic groups.
Simple political fact is that people like to see themselves represented in a political party and are more likely to vote for it if they do. We here only care if candidate is conservative (and some of us care if he/she is electable as well) and that’s it. Personally I don’t give a crap about the race/ethnicity/gender of anyone. But’s it’s not our votes we have to worry about. Don’t like that? Tough, that’s politics.
That’s why we should run CONSERVATIVE Women, Blacks, Hispanics, and Jews ect. ect. It does matter, it’s good for the party.
One Jewish Republican with a good chance at getting elected to the House this year is NY State Senator Lee Zeldin, in New York District one. He already has the Conservative nomination but faces a GOP primary (he and his foe George Demos both call the other liberal) before getting to moonbat rat Rep. Tim Bishop.
I think that, apart from Zeldin, there are several other Jewish Republicans running for Congress, but they’re longshots. Ben Streusand of TX-36 would be on his way to Congress, but he lost the runoff.
But I think that it is false to say that Cantor was the only House Republican who practiced a religion ither than Christianity: Massey, Amash and Bentivolio are Ronulans.
You’re wrong anyway. We have several Mormons, like Mike Lee.
