OR:
"Every man did what was right in his own eyes"?
Wasn't it actually the second principle which was the legal foundation of our country, which was the"common ground" between Christians and everyone else?
"You shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes." Deuteronomy 12:8
“In God We Trust” was the state motto of Florida. The U.S. borrowed it several years after Florida had it.
All others bring ca$h.....
I remember a sign in Finkelsteins in Asheville, N.C.
“Our credit manager is Helen Waite. If you want credit go to Helen Waite”.

“Every man did what was right in his own eyes” is the
EXACT type of mentality that has produced the debauched,
crass immoral society we are currently witnessing.
If buggering a fellow dude in some gay bath house is
“right in his own eyes” then it’s ok. If pedophilia
is “right in his own eyes” then it’s ok. If lying,
cheating and stealing are “right in his own eyes” then
that’s ok.
WRONG......what is right has been explicitly laid out and
was well known by our founding fathers. That is why they
spoke of morality and being god fearing.
And THAT is why it was said (Franklin?) that our Constitution was wholly inadequate except for a moral and just people. We are not that. We are “Get everything you can, especially if it is free or subsidized”.
Bring back jobs if you want. Elect the “right” man if you want. It is all for naught. UNLESS Gods people humble them selves, cry out for His mercy on our country (and countrymen). His promise is that IF we will do that, He will heal our land.
Sadly, we are headlong racing to destruction with a majority of Godless people cheering those at the helm.

The legal foundation all along has been “every man do what’s right in his own eyes.” Eventually we would have the country we have now. This is the standard the Supreme Court goes by. Even Christians have religiously adopted the teachings of our country, which is still Caesar by any other name. Jesus said that His Kingdom was not of this world.
