The pre-UCC Congregational Church--one I grew up in--is the main component of the UCC today. Last time I went to a service probably six or seven years ago, the UCC preacher ridiculed evangelicals and fundamentalists, from the pulpit, making jokes about "remembering that SHAZZAM! moment when they were saved," and such like. He also gave an entire sermon without saying the words "Jesus,"or "Christ."

The UCC is a bluehair congregation, and will die a natural death as the old members continue to die off. They will end up merging with some other leftwing splinters, as the article suggests, in order to survive.

From what I've seen, the Presbyterian Church USA may not be far behind.
