On a related note, American Islamists are currently engaged in exploiting the gay-marriage issue in order to get legal recognition for polygamy (polygyny) in the United States, as part of their strategy to implement Sharia law here. Which would be tantamount to undermining the very foundations of American society and culture — that is, the traditional family and our constitutional rule of law.
This sort of thing ought to be strongly resisted: There is no force on earth today more anti-Liberty than the Islamist Jihad against the West. It is positively a Luciferian force....

It is fair to point out that the single group most active and influential in pushing this POV has been the Jews, using the Holocaust as a bludgeon to intimidate dissenters.
Which is more than a little ironic, if you think about it.

Actually, Europe died in the mud of the Great War ... Verdun, Somme, Paaschendale, etc.
This is Hitler’s legacy, forever making Culturalism a dirty word, and enhancing the belief among many that multicultural societies are the best guards against another Holocaust...a view that is very naive, IMHO.

I had not seen it before.
My sense is that genuinely orthodox Jews do not play into the typical ACLU POV.
It seems that today there are not a few Jews in this country who self-identify as Jews by culture, not by specifically religious confession/commitment.
There are times I wonder whether such folks may be "holocaust deniers," too: They seem to want to forget the lessons of their own history.... Or at least reluctant to learn anything from it, such that it will not be repeated.

The considerable majority of Jews in America are not Orthodox. Most I believe are not particularly observant at all. They are “cultural” Jews.
Orthodox Jews have their own problems. Many of their attitudes towards the outside world and towards women, among other things, have more in common with Islam than with modern American society.
This is not entirely a bad thing, as modern American society has a good many serious problems.

True. Europe lost their desire to defend Western Civilization. They bled themselves white on those battlefields. Afterwards there was no desire to put themselves in a position where they may have to visit those horrors again, which gave Hitler an open avenue to institute the very thing Europe was trying to avoid.
Most people view WWII as the most important war, but in reality it was WWI. All else flowed from it even to this day.
And to me, the poster boy for non-observant "cultural Jews" is: David Axelrod, senior advisor to the President.
That dude is a "pure" atheist, plain and simple.
It seems to me truly observant Jews tend to cultural/political conservatism. Certainly that is the case with the followers of the Rebbe I have met.
The ones, like Axelrod — who for whatever reason despise God and His Law — are our worst nightmare....
