KELLER, Texas (KDAF) - Billboards are popping up in parts of Texas asking Catholics to quit the church.
I no longer want my name on their lists.I dont want to be considered a Catholic at all, said Zachary Moore.
Moore, who is with the Dallas-Fort Worth Coalition of Reason, is doing what a billboard near I-30 and Highway 360 urged. He has decided to quit the church because he does not like the stand the church has taken on contraception.
The vast majority of Catholic women are using birth control and for the bishops to take the position that they have shows a severe disconnect with their own parishioners, Moore said.
The Wisconsin-based Freed From Religion Foundation placed the billboard to send a message. The billboard reads: QUIT THE CHURCH PUT WOMENS RIGHTS OVER BISHOPS WRONGS.

Does anyone still wonder whether the Church and Christianity are under attack? “It feels good. Jesus is against it. Leave Jesus!”
I’ll bet the guy was never a Catholic. Just another poser. Barry’s Supreme Court yesterday voted that it is “constitutional” to lie about these kinds of things.
If you do not agree with the precepts of your religion, then you are wasting your time and the time of the church.
Idiots! The Church isn't a country club. If you do not like the rules STFU and leave!
Still waiting for athiest groups to put up billboards urging people to quit islam. That won’t happen though. It would be considered racist and might hurt someone’s feelings.
This would only be valid after a careful and sincere evaluation of all of the precepts putting your own pride by the sidelines. Then I would agree with your statement.
Seems coordinated to me. Obama wages war on the Catholic Church and these signs start showing up.
The anti-jihad group SIOA put up help hotline advert boards on New York city buses for Muslim women trying to escape brutality in the home. Survived several court challenges.
I’m Catholic & these billboards just make me laugh.
But if a muzzie sees an anti-Islam billboard, he will fly into a rage of slice-&-dice.
Not the right attitude. I want everyone to stay and think about the terrible mistake they are making. Then go to confession and help build up the Church Militant. I want everyone to go to heaven. Even people I don't personally like.
It would be a hoot to put up some anti-Islam billboards with some kind of athiest sounding name—*Athiests United* or something like that.
I seriously doubt it. What about the women who are over childbearing age? How about the women who can not have babies? How about the lesbian Catholic women(yeah, I am sure there are some)? How about the women who are not in any type of sexual relationship?
or, “black panthers”, “La Rosta”, “Hispanic league”, “Black Liberation Theologists”, etc.
I wish I was rich. :-)
I bet there is a direct tie in with Obama's cash and these signs. Where is the FEC? Oh, Eric Holder controls them.
A significant minority of married Catholics are also committing adultery (in the sense that about a third have done it or will do it at least once). That's not evidence that the Church needs to abandon its position of that aspect of scripture, it's proof that we are flawed and need Church guidance and reinforcement of our higher nature's desire to follow God's Word.
The vast amount of American catholic women do use BC of some type. This is from google. Of he sexually active Catholic women age 15-44, only 11% don't use any at all.
The data listed in the Guttmacher report, meanwhile, referred to current contraceptive use among sexually active women who are not pregnant, post-partum or trying to get pregnant. That is a smaller universe of women, and it shows that 68 percent of Catholic women used what are termed highly effective methods: 32 percent sterilization; 31 percent pill; five percent IUD.
Many “Catholics” are as much Catholic as Barbra Streisand.
A fact the anti-Catholic faction here on FR just doesn’t get.
“Catholic” is just a name placeholder for them.

They won’t attack Judaism either.
The vast majority of Catholic women are using birth control and for the bishops to take the position that they have shows a severe disconnect with their own parishioners, Moore said.
wrong. There are billboards up against helping Israel.
Moore is right..the vast amount of Catholic women are using BC of some sort.
“There are billboards up against helping Israel.”

So what?
That is a wholly different issue than attacking the religion of Judaism here in the US.
**Coalition of Reason**
Ay info on them? Other than they are more interested in women than in Bishops?
What we need are signs telling all Catholics who are registered as a democrat to change their registration to Independent or Republican when Independent isn't an option.
Anyone who says they're a Catholic and won't at least make that much effort to distance themselves from the democrat fascist party may as well do as this guy wants them to and openly leave the Catholic Church. If someone thinks it's important to remain associated with the democrat party even though that party is now openly dedicated to destroying Catholic institutions, they're no longer Catholic. The people who worship the democrat party rather than Christ haven't already left The Church is because they have marching orders spread divisions and propaganda within The Church.
The same is true of a lot of people in non-Catholic churches. They they only stay affiliated with a Church in order to try and keep people from standing together against the anti-Christ democrat party. The Methodist Church my wife's relatives have always gone to may as well be named, "The Democrat Methodist Church" because anyone who is a Republican or Independent isn't going to be welcome there and won't feel comfortable there anyway. Between the interpretive dances by women wearing nothing but a skin tight semitransparent leotard and the sermons about the evils of fossil fuels, they're on exactly the same page as some of the Catholic churches people have told me about; the Democrat Party as Lord and Master, page.
Anyone who is Christian should be registered to vote, registered as an Independent or at least a Republican, and always make sure they vote even though most of the time all we can do is to vote for the lesser of the two evils. JMHO
I would think he was referring to sexually active/child bearing age Catholic women in his argument, not all women up to age 100.
Then use his mistake to ridicule him in the best of Saul Alinky way. He was clearly wrong and should be mocked.
for the bishops to take the position that they have shows a severe disconnect with their own parishioners, Moore said.
I think it’s the other way around. What makes him think the Church, is going to change this one aspect of it’s doctrine just to suit society?
Anyone who would leave their Church based on a pitch from a billboard is not strongly enough rooted in their beliefs to be a member of that Church in the first place.
>>>for the bishops to take the position that they have shows a severe disconnect with their own parishioners, <<<<
That’s the phrase that stood out to me.
Anyone who is a serious participant in the Catholic faith, knows that the opposite is the case. Catholic women/men who do not follow the prohibition of contraceptives are disconnected from their faith.
The bishops and priests have really allowed this disconnection though, by not preaching from the pulpit the truth of Catholic teaching.
And, how many of those Catholic couples who do practice birth control, have been informed of natural family planning?
This is just another example of people taking advantage of the uneducated/uniformed to tempt and draw people away from the Church.
Mormons and Jehovah’s Witnesses have been using this method for decades.
A bishop’s job isn’t to connect but to lead. What is right has never been a majority decision.
Zachary Moore can, and probably will, go to Hell. I choose not to join him.
I’ll keep my Catholic faith and let this nut case liberal skank follow his own path.
Soros
Pray for him and his ilk, yes. Enable him and his ilk, no.
"And we charge you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw yourselves from every brother walking disorderly, and not according to the tradition which they have received of us." 2 Thessalonians 3:6
Delve into the Guttmacher Institute - the research arm of those baby butchers at Planned Parenthood - and their methodology and you'll learn that they are cooking the books.
Liars figure and figures lie.
You are naive if you don't think the majority of Catholic women use some sort of BC beyond the rhythm method just as the vast majority of Catholics have premarital sex.
I'm not interested in enabling anyone, just calling people to conversion charitably.
100% Percent of us sin. So therefore no one can stand up and preach. All of the Apostles sinned so they are invalidated from preaching so says this logic. Pure stupidity.
Eucharist
It's a sin in assuming that your own sinful behavior is reflective of the behavior of 500,000,000+ women that you don't personally know.
Thanks for proving, yet again, that you are gullible and naive and none too shy about publicly demonstrating same.
Rhythym/natural planning..whatever
It's a sin in assuming that your own sinful behavior is reflective of the behavior of 500,000,000+ women that you don't personally know.
In the US/developed countries the vast amount of Catholic women are using BC. In 2nd and 3rd world countries probably not because 1.) They cannot afford it and 2.) it is not readily available...when it is they will use it and as they move out of poverty.
Of course in the developed world the Catholic faith is dying except with 2nd and 3rd world immigrants. It is growing in Africa and other such places but those people believe if you rape a baby it will cure aids...so what does that tell you? The Catholic church will die in those countries too once they become more developed.
Totally backward to think condoms/tubal ligations/vasectomies/women priest/altar girls etc are sinful and most people have the same view as I and the church needs to move in the 21st century regarding women taking a more active roll and BC or it will eventually die on the vine.
So do you also think premarital sex should be declared not a sin?
I'm not saying that..just that the vast amount of American Catholics do not follow church doctrine.
I'm not saying that..
Why not? You said, "the majority of Catholic women use some sort of BC beyond the rhythm method just as the vast majority of Catholics have premarital sex" and concluded, "Totally backward to think condoms/tubal ligations/vasectomies/women priest/altar girls etc are sinful" - so why wouldn't you also conclude that it's totally backward to think premarital sex is sinful?
What I was referring to is the majority of Catholic women and men are having premarital sex of some sort or degree and if they are doing that(which they are) they they surely have no problems with using a condom.
This is nothing new, they have been showing up in the Religion Forum for years.
Actually, the denominations that have "moved in the 21st century" are the ones dying on the vine. (In truth, taking themselves off the Vine is why they're dying.)
