53% favorable, 44 neg.
Probably 38% would pan it because they are the Liberal base, so 6% in addition to them see negatives.
Not enough to change the name.

Staunch Baptist Convention.
The logo and stationary can remain the same.

Why would they even want to change their name. They have such a long heritage.

“Any name change would have to be approved at the SBC’s annual conventions the next two years.”
We have time.
“Although 53 percent of respondents overall had a favorable view of the Southern Baptists, the high negatives are a concern for a denomination in which spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ is a fundamental to their faith.”
Since when did polling enter into things?
Do Catholics poll their negatives, and consider changing the name of their church? Do Jews?
If they actually kneel before the polling gods, we are headed into a very dark place.

How about Saint God Baptist Convention. I’m S.B. so I can suggest it. I think I saw it in a movie.
