One would think folks spending money on such would check with someone they knew about such things to avoid embarrassment.

On the other hand . . . we all embarrass ourselves in a myriad of ways in daily life.

Beautiful, you completely ignored "It is the New Evangelization of the Church in the United Kingdom and then, through her, the unfolding of a new missionary age dedicated to re-Christianizing the European continent. "

The Pope is working to re-Christianise the UK. You and your grouping of 10 people can do what you like.

The Church will keep preaching God's word and brining people to Christ --> your grouping of 10 people can still believe it's the chosen "elite"

Well, the bashers are basically hyper-Calvinists who also post such rot as The Arminian/Wesleyan Doctrine of Infant Damnation

They pretty much hate everyone and show no Christian compassion or love. Of course, the fact that their groups are only at max 27,000 and dropping (the OPC), doesn't deter them one bit as they believe they are an elite elect upper-caste.

And thank you squarebob for your kind words. God bless you too. The Pope is fighting to re-Christianize Europe and whether that means people become religious, traditional Lutherans or Methodists or Evangelicals or Catholic or Orthodox, that’s secondary, the main thing is for us to reclaim our Christian faith and heritage.

However, though Pope Benedict has physically departed and returned to Rome, the mission he elaborated in this historic four day visit has only just begun. It is the New Evangelization of the Church in the United Kingdom and then, through her, the unfolding of a new missionary age dedicated to re-Christianizing the European continent.

The reaction of the secular Press to this Papal visit is worth noting. Only a few months ago that press was predicting the Pope would be arrested upon arrival. If not, that he would at least be greeted with throngs of angry protestors. Ironically, though there were some protests, the numbers were relatively small. The real numbers in this story were the massive crowds which gathered in every one of his venues to listen to this humble and deeply reflective Christian leader. The response of the secular press is revealed in comments made by David Wiley of the BBC news:

"What has struck seasoned observers of papal tours is that people everywhere have responded spontaneously to the Pope's evident humility and his ability, even when talking serious theology, to communicate simple moral concepts in plain language. As David Cameron plans to say later, as he bids farewell to the Pope, the 83-year-old pontiff has caused the whole country to sit up and think."

However, the Pope did more than call the UK to "sit up and think", he called the Nation to kneel down and pray...

“Finally, I would like to say a word to you, my dear young Catholics of Scotland. I urge you to lead lives worthy of our Lord (cf. Eph 4:1) and of yourselves. There are many temptations placed before you every day – drugs, money, sex, pornography, alcohol – which the world tells you will bring you happiness, yet these things are destructive and divisive.

There is only one thing which lasts: the love of Jesus Christ personally for each one of you. Search for him, know him and love him, and he will set you free from slavery to the glittering but superficial existence frequently proposed by today’s society. Put aside what is worthless and learn of your own dignity as children of God. In today’s Gospel, Jesus asks us to pray for vocations: I pray that many of you will know and love Jesus Christ and, through that encounter, will dedicate yourselves completely to God, especially those of you who are called to the priesthood and religious life. This is the challenge the Lord gives to you today: the Church now belongs to you”

Oh if only the Pope had said something like that! Oh wait, he did.

...to make them look foolish...

They do a pretty good job of that without my help.

Despite the many godly people within them how can anybody doubt that most Protestant sects have fallen enamored of the world’s seduction and lies? So far non-denominational Protestant churches have avoided this as have some mainstream churches such as Southern Baptist, LCMS, Orthodox Presbyterian Church and others I have forgotten. Some have done so by holding fast to Scripture and the confessions of their faith. Others arose in response to the embrace of heresy within their original denominations.

But these heresies arose because they followed the practice that Scripture was to be interpeted by the light of the culture and times in which it is read. Not only do they reject the an official magesterium, they reject the a magesterium of common belief.

This did not happen overnight and it could not have happened had they not corrupted the teaching of Sola Scriptura and the teaching of self interpretation.

So the clear teaching of the Bible may not be as clear as you would like to think if people read it by their own light without guidance from either their denominations confessions or articles of faith or from a teaching magesterium.

I give them credit. Over and over again they stand as proof that the doctrine that “man is full depraved” is indeed true.

Spoken as if during the times before brother Martin went out on his rampage, the Roman Catholic was “unified”.

Sure it was.

I’m glad Jesus conquered my heart............

That must have been after you Freepmailed me.

Or maybe once you're "saved" and your ticket's punched, anything goes. Kinda like the Muslims. Lies and murder are permitted if you're dealing with an "infidel".

They were for those who did not choose heresy or who were not Eastern Orthodox.

Oops for some reason I misread your post. You might not be well versed in history but before the Reformation Christianity in the West ,with the exception of sects that even modern day Protestants would call heretical, was Catholic under the See of Rome. It was indeed unified.

Unless you are confusing different schools of theology and their disagreements with dogma that has been settled and is binding on all Catholic faithful. Or do you mean the numerous religious orders found in Catholicism?

This is the first "piling on" of anti-Catholicism that I have seen. Prayers for the Pope.

Continue to Pray for Pope Benedict [Ecumenical]

LOL! Let them pile on. They keep bumping the thread for all to read.

When that happens, you know that the Catholics must be right.

Sort of like the leftists screaming over something — when they do that, you know that you are on the right path!

Back in the day, I used to judge the worth of some US Foreign Policy or Military action by the loudness of the screams from the Kremlin. The louder Brezhnev shrieked, the better I judged the policy.

I never stopped being a sinner when I was saved.

Your comparison with Muslims is unbecoming but not unexpected.

Especially considering your longstanding support for pedophile-priests.
