Time to call out the Big Guns.
Some of you have heard thru FReepmail that a week and a half ago a mass was found during a routine chest X-Ray. 2 days later they did a CT Scan. Yesterday I had a Biopsy done. I just got off the phone with my Doctor.
I have cancer.
Specifically, Adenocarcinoma. More tests need to be done to determine the stage and if it is just the one tumor or if it has spread.
Please include me in your Prayers that this can be treated. The most powerful weapon I can employ in this fight is Prayer.
Prayers up!
Prayers incoming...
I’m so sorry. Prayers are ascending.
Heads up to Petruchio’s post (737) above. Thought you’d like to know.
God has another mission
Well, you probably remember, the last time I had adenocarcinoma in the right lung. 1 spot, about the size of a dime, on the surface of the lung. They removed the top 1/2 of the right lung and classified the spot as 1A. The next 3 years were cancer free.
Today I was told that a lymph node near where the windpipe splits to go to both lungs had almost tripled in size in the last year. They suspect cancer has returned. They are scheduling a full body PET scan and a MRI of the brain, because lung cancers like to attack the brain. Also setting an appointment with a radiation Dr.
The next 2 or 3 weeks are going to be real busy.
I am trying to be positive. The Dr. today said she is thinking of chemo & radiation to treat this. Maybe this is the ticket for me to lose some weight . . . nothing else has worked.
Thanks for this info which better helps me understand what you are addressing these days. You are in my thoughts always and especially more right now.
Praying for you our dear one.
You seem to be on top of your situation, thinking and working on success.
Be strong and confident.
I join in earnest prayer for you, dear Petruchio!
Definitely praying for you!

I finished chemo and radiation last year. I admit to having the same thought that you did about weight loss. But, when you're on chemo, you have to keep eating well. You would be surprised at how quickly you can reach a dangerously low weight.
Stay positive, and stay strong!
Praying for you and your doctors.
Praying for you!
Prayers for you Petruchio. Remember...
Crosses are a gift, crosses are a gift, we can offer them up.
Great instruction from the holiest, Our Lord and the saints.
You are in my prayers, Petruchio.
Prayers for healing, peace and courage.
Oh no! I’m praying for you. I have to go now to get a repeat of a bad mammogram, but I’ll check in with you when I get back. I’ll be gone all day, as it’s a long drive and I always take the opportunity to visit with family near there. God bless you Petruchio.
Prayers for recovery.
You have my prayers, Petruchio. I am so sorry this has happened to you. Stay strong and know our good thoughts, wishes and prayers are with you. Hugs, Mom
Prayers up
Dear one,
am storming heaven!!!!!!!!!!!!
It sounds like they’re covering all the bases, medically. Thanks for letting me know, so I can help out in the prayer department.
Cancer sucks! You beat it once. Beat it again. And don’t forget to eat plenty of fresh fruit.
Please keep me on your ping list. I’ll keep you in my prayers. God bless you FRiend. Be strong.
Dear Petruchio,
Prayers are up for you and your doctors and other medical personnel.
UPDATE:
Reminds me of Boot Camp . . . Hurry up & wait.
I have been running around like crazy getting all the tests and scans done. Now there is nothing to do until the 15th when I meet the Radiation Dr., and the 22nd when I go to my regular cancer Dr. to decide on the plan of attack.
On the plus side, there is no discomfort. If it was not for the medical reports I would have no clue something was wrong.
Something else I discovered reading the CT scan report. My pancreas is heavily scarred from Pancreatitis. This might explain why I went from 2 vials of Insulin a month to 9 vials.
You’re still in my prayers.
Thank you for the update. Prayers continue.
Thanks for the update. Get well my FRiend.
Prayers for successful course of treatment.
The hardest part is waiting. Once treatment begins, you will feel relieved that something is being done. Glad to hear you are having no discomfort. Thank you for the update. Prayers continue for you...
Thank you for keeping us informed, dear Petruchio! Prayers continue...
Waiting is so hard. What are you doing to stay busy? During one of my difficult waiting periods, I did a lot of random things. I tried reading, but couldn’t finish anything of substance. I cooked some new recipes, went for walks, did some gardening, cleaned out the attic, wrote a journal, looked up old friends, went for long drives, visited local tourist traps, finished crocheting an afghan that my sister-in-law had started, and planted an American Elm. It’s grown into a nice shade tree.
(((hugs))) Be strong!
Prayers up!
Prayer bump. I don’t know if I’ll have a chance to FReep tomorrow, but I’ll certainly have time to put in some extra prayers for you.
Tomorrow AM I meet with the Radiation DR. at CyberKnife Center of Chicago which is fortunately only about 3 miles from me. Hopefully I will learn the results of all the tests I had last week.
THANK YOU ONE AND ALL FOR THE PRAYERS, THEY ARE HELPING!!!
Update:
Well, Good news mixed with the bad.
Let’s get the bad out of the way . . . The cancer has returned. There is one tumor in a lymph node that on the PET scan lit up like Las Vegas at night. It is about 3cm, right in front of the windpipe where it splits to go to both lungs. There is a second node next to it that is also enlarged, but did not light up.
Good news . . . There are NO signs it has spread. Anywhere. Period. The Brain Scan showed no signs of cancer. It also showed that the brain is present and not relocated in my arse.
The Next Step is next Monday I meet with the Surgeon who did my lung surgery to see if they can do an open biopsy on the 2 identified nodes. If there is too much scarring they will go with a needle biopsy instead to identify exactly what the cancer type is.
Down to road I am looking at 2 months of Radiation treatments 5 days a week and whatever the Chemo turns out to be.
* I pinged everyone who has responded on this thread. This looks to be a long drawn out process. If you would rather not see all the updates please PM me and I will remove you.
Thank you for letting us know, dear Petruchio! Prayers continue...
Thank you for letting me know. Prayers continue for you.
Dear One,
Be encouraged. The Lord is at hand! Every day speak these decrees over your body:
Curse the cancer and tell it to leave in the Name of Jesus.
Curse the root of the cancer and tell it to leave in the Name of Jesus.
Curse the seed of the cancer and tell it to leave in the Name of Jesus.
Speak life, healing, health, and wholeness to your body. You are a child of God. He wants you well. It is His desire that you prosper and be in HEALTH, just as your soul prospers. (III John 2). You will be amazed at how the words that you speak with faith will bring the healing that was provided to you on the Cross of Calvary. Believe that Jesus has already taken care of it because He HAS! No matter what the doctor’s report is or what symptoms you observe, continue to believe in the Great Physician. God bless and keep you.
God bless you. Will pray even more.
I know in the past I have said many times that Prayer is helping, and I feel it. This is hard to exlain but I will try.
Think back to when you were a young child. You are running across the room & you trip over your own feet and take a tumble. Instant tears. Your Mom picks you up and “fixes” the boo-boo with the stingy stuff, a band-aid, and a kiss. Then she wraps you up in a big Ole’ Bear Hug. Suddenly it is all better. You are safe & protected, wrapped in that Loving embrace . . .
That’s kinda what I feel. I feel wrapped in His Love, snuggled & safe. Surrounded by all the Prayers. Because I feel this way I do not fear the coming battle.
Prayers to surround you.
Thank you for the update. Always remember that you have an army of supporters standing with you.
And of course the most powerful one that is always by your side.
Glory to God! Thanks for the update!
You are on my list, and I would love to track your progress! I may not always post a response, but please know that I am working with your other friends here to keep you covered in prayer.
Lord Jesus, we praise Thee for giving strength to Thy Servant Petruchio.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, amen.
Prayers continue....one day at a time.
