It's a Jewish practice, that has also been adopted by some Christians as well.Thanks for the explanation. Makes no sense to me. It's almost as though one is ashamed to discuss God openly, like one has to hide behind a semi-falsehood in the same way people semi-disguise bad words by substituting symbols for some letters.
If one loves God, why hide it?
