The Neverending Story
An ongoing debate on Scripture, Tradition, History and Interpretation.

Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. - John Adams

The file 'atiupdates5' is a program and when I go to delete it: Cannot delete atiupdates5: Access is Denied.

Press < Control>< alt>< delete> and select "task manager" (if it doesn't come up by itself). Sort the running tasks alphabetically and look for a program with that name.

If you find it, "end" that task... THEN delete the program from your desktop (make sure it isn't just a shortcut).

You NEED to get some AV software (and Ad Aware). You can download some from download.com for free.

If you aren't running anything now I think you'll be shocked by the results.

Muslim countries after 1948, most of them with nothing but the shirts on their backs. Israel took them in. The Arabs made no effort to similarly accommodate the Palestinians.

That's the whole point really. The Arab nations have no interest in returning the land back to the Palestinians. Why should they? It's so much easier to have the Palestinians direct their anger and hate at the Jews and Israel than to have the Palestinians mad and hateful to those that actually took their land.

The Palestinians seem to be 'usefule idiots' in this one. They inflict the terrorist acts upon Israel and its civilians, the Pali's become the bad guys, while the rest of the Arab world sits back, letting the Palis' do their dirty work for them.

Oh, it's as much a "proxy battle" as Vietnam or Korea was. Which makes those who think that if we abandon Israel, the Islamists will be happy with us and we'll all live in peace useful idiots as well.

If anything, Israel keeps their attention focused away from doing greater harm to the West. Iraq, as well. Annihilating Israel would only embiggen them to move the fight onward.

Today, we're attacking the Vatican for being too weak, not too strong. Try to keep up.

As if dispensational theology doesn't press the "world is only getting worse, it's God's plan" crap.
Nothing has been more harmful to a Godly society than this atitude.

"Why polish brass on a sinking ship?"
"Because we are to be stewards of what God has given us."
But His plan is to throw it all away anyway. And He won't return until it gets bad, so what is the point of doing anything except Praisin' Jesus, Halelujah!!"
But we cannot neglect our duty as stewards of this earth."
"Man, this earth is not my home, I won't be home until I go to be with Jesus. Glory!"

No matter what a dispensationalist says, this attitude of "the world is getting worse" only self-fulfills it's own prophecy.

Leaving up to 70% of Christians to NOT vote and CAUSE the greatest nation on earth go to hell because they do nothing. To buy end times books and fill their head with escapist fiction which only leads them to despise this great creation God has made, and loves (THIS WORLD [kosmos] for all you anti-earth fanatics).

At least the Catholics care about their world because they have a vision of Christian dominion (though I admit I am glad it has repented of its "by force" attitude for the most part).

There are always more catholics voting. More catholics at abortion clinics protesting. More catholics speaking out against the evils our country seems to support (gay marriage, abortion, etc).

I am not one of them, but our eshatology is one of victory and continued inhabitation on this earth. Causing a greater feeling of responsibility to care about it.
So I at least stand next to them.

God Bless
Nate

Is Palestine an active war zone or part of a civilized nation?

your #1,123 - You may agree or disagree, but Israel is not in a legally-declared war zone.

I said that based on what you previously wrote (above) that Palestine would fall into 'civilized nation', because it is NOT in a declared war zone.

In no sense is it a civilized nation.

Are you retracting one of your previous statements? If so, which one?

On the contrary, the "Palestinian" territory is either a proper part of Israel and hence civilized, or it is a terrorist state.

If the "Palestinian" territory were a proper part of Israel, then it wouldn't be "Palestinian" would it?

Are you saying that terrorists become 'civilized' if they are living within a civilized nations boundaries, whereas they become uncivilized if they are outside of civilized boundaries? So, that, it isn't ones behavior that makes one civilized, it is where one lives that is the determining factor???

I've never said "Palestine" was either a nation nor civilized.

Not as a seperate nation, no. As a region, yes. Peurto Rico is American land, and yet it is Peurto Rican as well.

I'm sorry this is so unclear to you. Let me re-state.

The "occupied territories" where the "Palestinian" people live are one of two things right now:

#1, they are a territory or region of the state of Israel. Israel is a civilized state and is answerable as such to the world's opinion including the Vaticans.

#2, they are an area of land under disputed control, a war zone, in other words.

The one thing they are not, at this moment is a nation-state called "Palestine." And such a state, if it were to come into existence with its current proclivities would not be "civilized."

Thanks, we figured it out. We weren't able to get Task Manager to run, because the program we were trying to delete was hogging too much system resources. We were finally able to get it to open in "safe mode", though, and then we could delete it. Things seem to be running normally now, and Mack is gonna get some anti-virus software!

Thanks malakhi!

You bet!

Where can I go to get a virus program?

Any office or computer store. I'd buy something off the shelf so you can run it today, and have the cd-rom and documentation.

You'll need to do regular "updates" of the virus definitions, because they're always coming up with new things. These can be done online, and would typically be free since you would have purchased the software.

Just about anywhere on the web. They're all over the place.

Oh wait! You mean an anti-virus program? Download.com has a few that you can download and use for free for a limited period of time (they got you hooked and THEN sock you with a renewal fee if you want to keep them).

I suspect that on this issue I am more "Baptist" than you are. I got this belly the old fashioned way - I earned it - no beer involved. :-)

You can run a free anti-virus program from Trend Micro Here.

This will get you going for the time being. It would probably be worthwhile in purchasing a suite of products like those from Symantec. My anti-virus program runs and is updated automatically.

Try the free Trend Micro, it will help right away.

Why do you assume that the Vatican has not a stated position against terrorist acts? Does it need to be reiterated constantly?

Constantly? lol. Sure would have been a good time to say something. The dude is a terrorist sympathizer just deal with it.

Mack I find your dispensationalist abortion of scripture that causes you to defend them so blindly as equally idiotic. Naive even.

Nate. Its disconcerting that I have to take you to the woodshed with my first post to you in about a year. And far be it from me to take up for dispensationalism. But you, claiming to be of Jewish origin, ignorant of the promises made to Abraham regarding the land, admonishing poor Mack for "abortion of Scripture"?

That goes over like "a porkchop in a synagogue". And please spare me the "supercession" response. Its an abortion of Scripture. :-)
