The Tarrant County Sheriff is up for re-election following a contentious year filled with controversy surrounding deaths at the Tarrant County Jail. Sheriff Bill Waybourn, who first took office as a Republican in 2017, is facing a challenge from Democrat Patrick Moses, a retired law enforcement officer. Waybourn won with 53% of the vote, according to unofficial results. Since Waybourn took office, more than 60 people have died in the Tarrant County Jail, about half from natural causes, which has spurred numerous calls for Waybourn to resign.

Shelley Luther, the former Dallas salon owner who was jailed after reopening her salon during the COVID-19 pandemic, is heading to the Texas state house. Luther defeated Democrat Tiffany Drake Tuesday night, earning more than 75 percent of the vote to win in Texas House District 62. Luther made national headlines when she reopened her far North Dallas salon in defiance of countywide restrictions. She was jailed for seven days in 2020 after a Dallas County judge found her guilty of civil and criminal contempt of court. Luther was fined $1,000 for each day her salon, Salon à la Mode,...
  • I Know Why So Many Latino Men Voted for Trump. I Tried to Sound the Alarm

    11/06/2024 3:24:03 PM PST · by nickcarraway · 18 replies
SNIP That was why, of all the big shocks during Election Night, the hard shift of Latino voters to Donald Trump did not surprise me in the least. The speed at which it came to pass may have surprised me, but the fact it happened did not. Ever since Trump did better with Latino voters in 2020 — after he called Mexicans drug dealers, rapists and criminals in 2016 — I’ve been cognizant of this shift. And I’ve spent a lot of time trying to work out what’s behind it, particularly when it comes to Latino men. The warning signs...
  • Trump flips Texas border county with 97% Hispanic population — ending 128-year Democratic streak

President-elect Donald Trump won a historic victory in a border county with a 97% Hispanic population on Tuesday night — ending a Democratic voting streak that began in 1896. Trump’s take over of the blue bastion was made evident Wednesday morning as he won Starr County with more than 57% of the vote — the first time a Republican has claimed the border community in 128 years. The outcome reveals the surge in popularity Trump has received from Latino voters, especially among men, with issues around the border and illegal immigration.
  • Texas Sen. Ted Cruz will win reelection and defeat Democrat Colin Allred, CNN projects

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz will win reelection to a third term, CNN projects, defeating Democratic challenger Rep. Colin Allred and denying Democrats one of their best chances to mitigate potential losses elsewhere. The Longhorn State has long been a Republican stronghold, with the GOP winning every statewide election there since 1994. However, amid demographic shifts, Democrats have long seen Texas as a potential future battleground and national party groups poured millions of dollars into trying to boost Allred’s candidacy in the final months of the race. Allred, a former NFL linebacker who defeated GOP Rep. Pete Sessions to win his...
  • Mark Cuban Says Trump Won Presidential Election ‘Fair and Square’ — and Also Congratulates Elon Musk

SNIP “Congrats @realDonaldTrump. You won fair and square. Congrats to @elonmusk as well. #Godspeed,” the “Shark Tank” judge wrote Wednesday. Cuban had been out stumping for Harris on the trail, but got backlash after claiming Trump does not surround himself with “strong, intelligent women” while appearing on ABC’s “The View” on Thursday.
  • Ted Cruz: Democrats Using Illegal Immigration to ‘Win Every Election Forever’

    The Daily Fetched ^ | 6 September 2024 | Jason Walsh
Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) warned that mass illegal immigration into the U.S. is purposely being driven by Democrats because it allows them to gain new voters and remain in power. During his podcast, Cruz slammed Kamala Harris and the state of the border, highlighting how the current administration is using s illegal immigration into the United States to boost its political weight. The Texas Republican argued that Democrats want to increase the illegal immigrant number y "by 20 million, to be 30 million, to be 40 million," explaining that in doing so, they will "win every election forever and ever."
  • 'Incorrect numbers' | Harris County early voting numbers are off due to this issue (Texas)

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — Harris County Clerk Teneshia Hudspeth announced Monday that early voting numbers across the county could be off due to a formatting issue within the spreadsheet they use to keep track of the numbers. In a statement, Hudspeth said cells shifted for some of the voting centers in the spreadsheet and showed "incorrect numbers for other locations." Editor's note: The video atop this article is from a previous report. It's unclear how many locations the shift affected. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5. The weather is expected to be a factor in Southeast Texas, so be prepared...

More than 1.2 million Harris County residents took part in early voting this year, falling shy of 2020's record turnout of approximately 1.4 million. According to the Texas Secretary of State’s unofficial results, 1,176,426 people voted in person across Harris County during early voting. As of the final day of early voting, Nov. 1, 53,500 had also already voted via mail, making for a total of 1,229,926 ballots cast during early voting. This is the second-highest number of ballots ever cast during early voting in Harris County. 2020 still holds the record with 1,265,405 in-person ballots and 171,247 mail-in ballots...

ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Former President Donald Trump received a full-throated endorsement from Puerto Rico’s Republican shadow senator on Tuesday as he distanced himself from the comedian who made a controversial joke about the island during his weekend event at Madison Square Garden. “I strongly and fully support and endorse Donald J. Trump to be our 47th president — to make America great again and, of course, to make Puerto Rico shine again,” Zoraida Buxó informed the former president’s supporters during a rally in Pennsylvania. Trump, 78, later brought Buxó back on stage during his remarks in the key swing state....

Amid this year's U.S. Senate race, pollster Ivan Moore predicted on Saturday that Senator Ted Cruz, a Texas Republican, is going to "lose for sure" against his Democratic opponent, Representative Colin Allred. Cruz is facing Allred, a three-term congressman from Dallas, in a closely watched race that could determine which party wins control of the U.S. Senate. Republicans are hoping to seize the Senate in this month's election after failing to do so in 2022 when a widely forecast "red wave" failed to materialize. There are currently 51 Democratic-aligned senators versus 49 Republican senators, though the GOP is widely expected...

    UK Daily Mail ^ | November 3 2024 | MARYANN MARTINEZ
The most 'pro-Trump' town in the union may also be one of America's friendliest. In Miami, Texas, which has a population of 494 within the city limits and 803 in all of Roberts County, only 17 votes were cast for the Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden in the 2020 election. This means a staggering 96.18% cast their ballots for Donald Trump in the Panhandle, a region that's known for it's open plains and cattle ranching.

Disclaimer: The opinions expressed in this guest post are solely those of the guest author. On Tuesday, November 5, Amarillo residents will cast their final votes on Proposition A – a local ordinance that would protect unborn children by further prohibiting abortion and abortion trafficking. While many Amarillo residents have already chosen to cast their votes for or against the measure during early voting, many remain undecided of how they will be voting on the historic measure. The pro-life measure was brought to Amarillo by Jana May, a resident of Amarillo who wanted to see her city pass an ordinance...

A charity run shelter in El Paso, Texas stands accused of “planning and facilitating” illegal migrants to cross over the border from Mexico into the US, according to court documents. The accusation of brazen illegality is part of a suit filed by the state Attorney General Ken Paxton against Annunciation House, a Catholic group who run a handful of shelters providing temporary housing to migrants who have illegally crossed into the US. Paxton launched an investigation earlier this year into the charity, demanding the immediate release of documentation about its migrant clients, which it has refused to do. “Annunciation House...

"The Ways and Means Committee is committed to holding accountable any tax-exempt organization found to have ties to foreign terrorist organizations, engaged in activity that contradicts tax-exempt purposes, or participated in other illegal activity." The US House Ways and Means Committee has referred US tax-exempt organizations that have suspected ties to foreign terrorist organizations and fuel antisemitism to the Attorneys General of six states where those nonprofits are organized for investigation. On Tuesday, letters were sent by Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith (R -MO), who had previously demanded that the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) revoke the tax-exempt status...

    American Thinker ^ | October 31, 2024 | Jerome R. Corsi
We now have proof that the Georgia State Board of Elections (SBOE) creates illegal cloned voter IDs in the thousands, capable of being activated to create certifiable voters in an election fraud scheme consistent with embedding cryptographic codes in SBOE voter registration databases. As reported on our website, GodsFiveStones.com, Andrew Paquette, Ph.D., discovered these algorithms in New York, Ohio, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Arizona and will report on New Jersey, Texas, and Hawaii. A group known as theGANerds_Real on “X” (“The Georgia Nerds”), headed by Kim P. Brooks, has published a series of podcasts on Rumble documenting how the Georgia SBOE...

Five people have been charged in Texas with organizing and participating in an illegal cheating scheme that certified more than 200 unqualified teachers and helped the plot’s “kingpin” rake in more than $1 million, prosecutors said. In the scheme, people would typically pay $2,500 to have proxies take certification tests for them at two testing centers in Houston. The scandal involved bribing a testing proctor to allow test applicants and their proxies to switch places... Investigators noticed a pattern, they said: Numerous teacher certification candidates who previously failed certification exams would drive from faraway Texas cities to the Houston area...

AUSTIN (Nexstar) — Nearly seven million Texans have already voted — nearly a third of all registered voters in the state — and their voting histories suggest Republicans are turning out much more than Democrats. As of Monday, 1,894,070 early voters had previously voted in Republican primaries and have no history of voting in Democratic primaries, according to Ryan Data and Research. A total of 1,242,800 early voters had only voted in previous Democratic primaries. That history suggests those voters came into the voting booth with a strong partisan lean, though it cannot definitively predict which candidates they prefer. Based...

On November 5, 2024, the citizens of Amarillo, Texas will vote on a local ordinance that would further protect the unborn. While Texans have a strong reputation of standing for life, some wonder if this election might be different. If a majority of Amarillo voters mark their ballots FOR Proposition A, Amarillo will become the 53rd city in Texas and the 70th city in the nation to pass a Sanctuary City for the Unborn Ordinance. Amarillo would also become the sixth pro-life ballot victory in Texas since the initiative began, following victories in Lubbock in May of 2021 and Abilene,...
