Bump - very interesting. All the conspiratists over the years had screamed at Israel for lying about the attack, and for nefarious American supporters for not pursuing the issue. It probably won't make much difference to the Israel-haters and crypto-anti-Semites...

An Israeli is visiting America when three men start berating him over the sinking of the Liberty. The men shower abuse upon him, ignoring his protests that the sinking was a tragic accident caused by the fog of war. Finally, the Israeli raises his eyes skyward.

"Oh, Lord! I know in my heart that the state you have given the Jewish people would never deliberately attack a friend and ally! Please, give these men a sign, and show that I am right!"

Thunder crashes! Lightning strikes! The clouds part, and a single sunbeam shines on the Israeli. A voice from the heavens booms "HE'S RIGHT!"

For a moment, the three men are taken aback. Then their leader shrugs.

"So? Now it's three to two."
