Gun Controller Schumer Has Armed Bodyguard

The Senate's leading gun control advocate, Senator Charles Schumer - who's currently pressuring the White House to extend the 1994 assault weapons ban - travels with an armed bodyguard, NewsMax.com has learned.

Questions arose Wednesday morning about the gun opponent's security arrangements after the New York Post's Cindy Adams mentioned in her column that Schumer appeared at a recent event with a bodyguard in tow.

A quick call to Schumer's office confirmed that the man guarding the Senate's number one gun controller was packing heat.

"He's a New York police detective," the Senator's spokesman revealed to NewsMax. When asked whether Schumer's detective was indeed armed, the spokesman replied, "I would imagine so."

Sensing a public relations problem in the making, the Senator's spokesman explained that his boss "believes in the second amendment and the right to bear arms."

"So I don't think there's anything inconsistent about it," he insisted.

In recent days Sen. Schumer has mounted a campaign to get the White House to actively press Republicans in Congress to back an extension of the 1994 assault weapons ban, which he sponsored.

"We hope the president will not just say he supports the ban but will work to get it passed," the New York Democrat told reporters last week, adding, "This will be a good measure of the compassion in his compassionate conservatism."

No doubt the good Senator's armed bodyguard agrees.

We should all be so fortunate. I bet the bodyguard carries a semi-automatic.

Perhaps FREEPERS COULD ATTEND whenever he's going to speak and holding a placard noting the hypocrisy--guffah hillariously whenever he opened his mouth about controlling guns.

Well, of course he does. The whole point of gun control is to make sure the serfs are disarmed and thereby ensure the safety of our beloved ruling class.

Schumer's bodyguard packs heat. Isn't that a surprise? It would be a surprise if he had only one bodyguard so equipped.

Obviously, he supports the Second Amendment...for himself. Not the rest of us, of course.

Where's the rest of the quote that says something like "it's just not for you little people, that's all." ...?

Ya'll gotta understand ...he is a member of the "elite" and thinks of himself as royalty compared to the peasant class he represents...
Seems to me a few years back Teddy K's bodyguards got busted for illegally converted UZIs (from semi to full auto without a tax stamp or manufactures license)...of course nothing came of it...

Isn’t this all par for the course?

I mean come on… Liberals feel that only they have the intelligence to make decisions for us serfs, we cannot possibly be trusted with such issues as our money, health care and even jobs so isn’t it just normal that they feel it’s only them who can be trusted with guns?

I seem to recall something about VPC Sara Brady being busted for buying a gun in a straw purchase a while back.

Steven Spielberg (Hard Leftist Anti-gunner) has a massive shotgun collection and employs a security staff of 15 fulltime two are former Secret Service.

Rosie O (Hard Leftist Anti-gunner) employees body guards who pack heat.

Senator Fineswine (Hard Leftist Anti-gunner) is an honorary “SWORN” US Marshal who carries aboard flight. She was a former prosecutor.

A good friend of mine flies for United Airlines based out of SFO and he has told me that she and one or two others have boarded flights armed or traveling with armed personnel, usually Capitol Hill Police.

Hypocrites among the liberal elite are nauseating.
