It does not sound like they are describing a 'lab' as such, but rather a distribution point for biologicals. They could use this to possibly fill other delivery systems or, depending on the setup, they could spray or release directly from this vehicle while either rolling or stationary.

It's just an ice cream truck containing the flavor of the month, radioactive rasberry.
Anthrax Ripple?
Crunchy Frog?

Or just plain ol' Ricin Cream maybe?

The story I posted last night was from a reputable SA newspaper and was big news down there. No reason whatsoever to pull it.

You have a good point, and you might be right that the vehicle was used to load chemical / bio munitions into shells. But...

First off, It is designed to be exempt from UN inspections. So, ergo, it is involved in some kind of violation of the UN resolutions.

I understand that Bio-Labs can be pretty small. The articles that I had read discussed tracker trailer sized rigs with only one half of the rig avail for the lab. Most reports stated that the lab could be the size of a suitcase if they wanted to make it that small. Great Washington Post article on this a while back.

THe informant for the vehicle described it as a mobile Bio Lab.

The Military who investigated this described it as a mobile lab.

Would a vehicle like this ever be needed for use with conventional warheads?

Info from fox is clear...

Hardly. It sounds as though a film of a mobile lab has been discovered, not a mobile lab per se.

Rubbish!! These units were for ensuring product safety at the Baby Milk Factories. I read it in the papers.

The LA Times or the NY Times?

No. It will not be a production lab. If it is bio, then it is a LOADER facility. It merely transfers bios from bulk storage containers to warheads.

It requires containment, cooling and and the ability to handle containers, measure and load.

That can all be done in a small vehicle.

This vehicle does not at all look like the diagrams of the mobile production facilities which required 3 full-size tractor trailer vehicles for each facility.

Your graphics remind me of when we went into Afghanistan and all the news programs were showing what they thought the underground "Caves" looked like. They showed rooms, weapons, fuel, cots, even tractor trailers hiding in them. Later in Tora Bora they showed soldiers squeezing through tiny openings in some of them.

You haven't been around for long, have you Pushi. If Jim don't like your thread, it's gone. Do it too many times, and you're gone. 95% of the threads here aren't worth diddly dick, and rational argument isn't allowed unless it fits within the 9 dots. Sooooo...don't contribute.

And yet you signed up 1997-12-10 with a profile number of 416 and are still around.

Nothing new about that. You may not notice it until your ox is gored.

Doubtful. That was, supposedly, a Chinese cruise missile (or a copy of one). Different animal.
