The tyrant will soon be gone. With those words, President Bush left no doubt with Saddam Hussein or with the world that the years of a brutal dictatorship in Iraq will soon be over. In an address to the American people, and to the Iraqi people, Bush reiterated the many steps for diplomacy and peace that the United States and her allies have followed in the past 12 years- to no avail. The President told the Iraqis that their liberation is near and warned any Iraqi soldiers to think twice before releasing chemical or biological weapons. Bush also issued warnings to any terrorists that, 'If our enemies dare to strike us, they and all who have aided them, will face fearful consequences.' Earlier in the day, Bush met with congressional leaders and outlined tonights speech, and ultimately prepared them for military conflict. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya! I know I will.

TOP FIVE QUOTES OF THE DAY:
1. The United States and other nations did nothing to deserve or invite this threat. But we will do everything to defeat it. Instead of drifting along toward tragedy, we will set a course toward safety. Before the day of horror can come, before it is too late to act, this danger will be removed.

2. The United Nations Security Council has not lived up to its responsibilities, so we will rise to ours.

3. The United States of America has the sovereign authority to use force in assuring its own national security. That duty falls to me, as Commander-in-Chief, by the oath I have sworn, by the oath I will keep.

4. Saddam Hussein and his sons must leave Iraq within 48 hours. Their refusal to do so will result in military conflict, commenced at a time of our choosing.

5. The tyrant will soon be gone. The day of your liberation is near.

We heard one of President George W. Bush's best speeches, tonight!

Here are some wonderful Reagan quotes--which reflect a philosophy shared by President Bush

March 16, 1982 before the Oklahoma State Legislature: The top priority of the federal government is the safety of this country.

June 6, 1984 at the 40th anniversary of D-Day over looking Omaha Beach, Normandy: We will always remember. We will always be proud. We will always be prepared so we may always be free.

July 17, 1980 at the accepting speech of the Republican Presidential nomination: It is the responsibility of the President of the United States....to ensure that the safety of our people cannot be successfully threatened by a hostile foreign power.

December 28, 1982 at the recommissioning of the USS New Jersey in Long Beach California: When we've taken up arms it has been for the defense of freedom for ourselves and for other peaceful nations who needed our help. But now faced with the development of weapons of immense destructive power, we have no choice but to maintain ready defense forces that are second to none. Yes the cost is high, but the price of neglect would be infinitely higher.
