"Have you forgotten how it felt that day, to see our homeland under fire and the people blown away?" asks Tennessee country singer Darryl Worley in a song that hasn't been released for sale to the public yet.

But "Have You Forgotten?" a patriotic anthem recalling September 11 and dedicated to the American military, is already ranked 19th on the country airplay chart by Radio & Records magazine, an industry publication that tracks what radio stations are playing.

Sorry to hear about Emmylou Harris. I love her dedication to the heritage of old time country music.

But I won't put a cent in the pocket of anyone that would donate to an pro-liberal cause. She is off my list.

I believe in mass movements. I believe that the majority of the people demonstrating in the streets is a popular will, which is generally good. However, the demonstrations are led by folks I don't trust under the guise of otherwise.

They are very well organized. Who pays the bills for these busses running to DC?

the web site address for Worley posted in the Times' article doesn't function properly; it tries to bring up the stylesheet, which, obviously, is useless without the page content.

Why don't we have busses going to our rallies?

Apparently, some people won't play the song, whether out of hypersensitivity or political correctness.

I'm not a country western music fan, but it doesn't surprise me that they stick up for their country. There was that nasty concert after 9/11 where the only patriotic song sung was done by Celine Dion. A Canadian.

As I was watching it, I figured if Motorhead came out and did Battle Hymn of the Republic, I'd send money. That would be something to see....

Musicians United to Win Without War

The only possibility we had to win without war was killed when France and Germany stabbed us in the back.

These people are airheads.

Some country stars, however, side with Mr. Worley, who is on tour of the United States. In late February, musician Charlie Daniels sent "An Open Letter to Hollywood" to print and broadcast media throughout the country. Disgusted by anti-war performers, Mr. Daniels did not mince words. "Why you bunch of pitiful, hypocritical, idiotic, spoiled mugwumps. Get your head out of the sand and smell the Trade Towers burning," he wrote.

Good on Charlie Daniels!! There are some good entertainers who still love their country!

Socialist World Workers Party and their ilk. Clinton wimped out of bringing Saddam to account because too many of the activists in his party want the United States and capitalism to be defeated.

A lot of these people say they believe in America, but they actually don't believe in the America that exists. They believe in their vision of a socialist America that will arise after all the evil Christians and evil businesspeople and evil gun owners and evil military people and evil "right wing conservatives" are defeated. And they think humbling and defeating the United States is the way to realize their dream.

There are a few Christian pacifists out there who are against all force, no matter what, no matter who. These people speak from their hearts and follow Christ, but they do not believe in the United States either. The U.S. is just another temporal government and their eyes are on the kingdom of heaven. I have respect for these people; but governments exist to protect their citizens, not to emolate themselves for a religious ideal that all their citizens may not agree with.

I really think that 70-80% of these protesters are only doing it because it's the cool thing to do right now. They don't really understand the facts but they see others doing it and they have heard stories about their parents or friends parents who protested in the 60's. They now see their opportunity to have cool protest stories like their parents.

"There are a few Christian pacifists out there who are against all force, no matter what, no matter who. These people speak from their hearts and follow Christ,"

I disagree -- those "Christian" pacifists tend not to believe in the inerrancy or infallibility of Scripture, except when it suits their liberal purposes. Then they'll quote their verses all day long.

I, for one, am getting sick and tired of all these left-wing churches who don't esteem the Scriptures on a day-to-day basis or week-to-week basis except for the advancement of their liberal agenda. They're nothing but "users."

I would say that they are following a Christ of their own making, not the true Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as revealed in ALL of Scripture. I'm sick of cowards who hide behind Scripture and find the meanings they want!!!

[End of soapbox]

Some of them are genuine.

And as one who has lately had a lot of trouble squaring her patriotism with her reverence of Jesus Christ and His teachings, I don't think it is simple.

It helps me to envision Jesus sitting outside the temple, working with his hands, braiding a whip. Sort of like the calm before the storm as the tool(s) necessary for the warfare are prepared.

When the time came ... armed, determined and motivated by what was right and righting a wrong ... My Lord commenced to thrashing the money changers and sellers of sacrifice(s).

I know there were no killings in that incident, but I believe that was because the greedy ones knew they were wrong and that they were facing the Judge of the universe.

Today, too many artificial gods replace the One, True God.

The trees are in the forest ... you just have to work at finding them.

Alas.

I have no doubt that some of them are genuine...but genuineness or sincerity count for nothing, only what's right and true.

America has been given more than any other nation on the face of the earth, and one part and parcel of that is freedom. We should be thankful that we are able to worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday morning without the threat of governmental authorities throwing us out of our own churches.

Muslim extremists threaten our peace and security, and we have a moral obligation to resist evil. Pacifism does not work above the personal level, or else we would have ceased to exist a long time ago. Evil would triumph.

Romans 13 tells us that the governmental authorities are in place to keep law and order, they are "God's ministers" in bearing the sword. Otherwise, we would be overrun by evil both internally and externally. Christians must not allow that to stand.

There's nothing wrong with loving this great land called America. There is nothing wrong with a Christian policeman or Christian military man defending her. There is nothing wrong with a Christian supporting war if it's just and will preserve justice and righteousness. Peace is the presence of justice and righteousness.

If we love America more than God Himself, however, there is a problem. And in all things, we want peace. No one wants war, which is why we long for the return of Christ in which perfect righteousness and peace is in place forever and ever.

My apologies if I offended you in my last post. That's the last thing I wanted to do.
