Just read your bio, btw. We need to FReep-mail talk ;-), as your wife and I (and my sister....... and lots of other musical friends) have lots in common! Later, as I'm on my way out the door for the evening.

Advice please from my fellow freepers.....my hubby has been deployed, Im all alone.....I live in a small village outside a town of 50,000.....I am really not too worried and plan to follow some of these tips.....should I be more concerned(for myself) and start preparing *a room*.....?

I have to run, but briefly, the closer you are to a city whose name is well-enough known to garner a lot of publicity if attacked, the higher your odds of being in danger. JMO, doesn't sound like you need to prepare a room. Supplies for a power outage are always wise to have on hand, however.

Friends, I don't usually editorialize, but we are about to enter uncharted waters as we prosecute this new war against terror-- Americans will be in more peril, abroad and at home, than in any recent time.
We need to be clear- the whole of western civilization is at war with militant Islam, and only one will survive.
We may well see terror attacks here at home- recall what 2 malcontents in a beat-up car did to the Beltway? Multiply that by a few hundred "terror teams," and let your imagination run a while.
Suicide bombers in Malls? Why not? Israel is the precursor- what has been done to them may well be done to us.
The first counter to this is to pay attention to your surroundings- and the people in them- at all times.

Thanks for looking... ho, hoe, whatever- my wife has a nasty habit of humming or whistling "Jingle Bells" whenever she's in the company of a woman she really despises- what the victim doesn't know is that her version has custom lyrics with "whore" used for every word... try singing it yourself; you'll be surprised at how well the word fits with proper emphasis... think of that damnable "Barking Dog Jingle Bells" that was popular some years ago...
