West Coast VCR Alert: Dennis Miller kills on Leno tonight
Tonight Show ^ | 1/29/03 | Dennis Miller

Posted on 01/29/2003 11:28:31 PM PST by Warhead W-88

Head's up, put on Leno tonight or load up the VCR.

Dennis Miller kills, enthusiastically backs Bush on Iraq and bashes the Al Gore, the Dems, the French, and Sean Penn.

On the French: "The French wouldn't go to Iraq unless we convinced them there were truffles there.

On Penn: "Yeah, he's the kind of guy who if you say he isn't peaceful, he'll come to beat you up."

On Iraq: "Heat plus sand equals glass. I think we should go in there and bomb Baghdad until it looks like Superman's Dad's aparment on Krypton."

Must see.

Also hits "liberals" (he uses that word, too) for bollixing up our education system with "Education Department Hippy-Dippy Happy Talk": "These people even want to get rid of *grades* now, because they think bad grades hurt kids' self-esteem. So even bad grades have to sound 'happy.' They're like, 'A 'D' is just a 'B' that didn't tighten its belt!!"

You won't be disappointed. It's got to be the strongest conservative message delivered on mainstream tv since... well, I guess since the state of the union.

But they *had* to carry that, of course.

He didn't let up for one second. There was no "balancing," like how they have to hit both sides equally to be fair. Nope-- this was a love-letter to Bush and a real hard slam of the liberals.

I saw the promo...

"The only smoking gun I need to see is the one that just shot Saddam."

He's also got a good riff about unmanned armed drones.

"Let me tell you something-- you give my twelve year old boy one of these things. Give him a Barcalounger, a bag of doritos, and a joystick, and he'll guide one of these babies right up Saddam Hussein's ass without waking him up. He's an undiscovered military genius."

And no-- he wasn't doing one of those sneering liberal put-downs about a "push-button war." He just really thinks the UAV's are cool, and he really thinks his 12 year old son is an undiscovered military genius.

It was a fantastic performance. Miller actually said he was a Bush man. He supports taking out Saddam because he knows the guy is a threat, but he also believes that it will serve as a good object lesson for North Korea. He even took a shot at Al Gore: "I've known psoriasis patients who were more comfortable in their own skin than Al Gore."

The last couple of times he was on Leno, he strongly supported Bush, but this is his best performance yet. I only wish I had followed my first instinct and taped it.

Gotta love it. After seeing Leno make an ass out of himself again during the monologue, it will be nice ot see some balance later in the show.

Tell me, how can a guy make a living telling the same joke about Bush being stupid every night for two years? Answer, the same way a guy can make a living out of trashing Linda Trip every night for two years.

I used to like Jay. His humor was clean. It's was insightful and just plain funny. Today he's adopted the jerk's road to low-lifedom. Evidently he's been hangin' with the libs too long. I can't watch him anymore. After about two jokes I get the desire to drive that jaw of his back two inches.

Sad to say it really. He used to be one of my favorite commedians.

I liked the reference to the North Korean leader guy as the "Chia" guy.

It was, to me, truly amazing to see. Leno asked him "so, what did you think of the State of the Union speech?" For what seemed like an eternity, Miller just let loose - not pausing to let Leno say anything.

Any normal American watching that had to have had a light come on when he went off on the ACLU, saying something like "now, let's think about the ACLU. They'll sue you for putting up a manger scene at Christmas, but then defend the guy who comes up and has sex with one of the sheep in your manger." Too funny.

Best line of the night...

The French are always hesitant to agree to the wishes of their friends...

...and always more than willing to agree to the wishes of their enemies.

Ba da bing...

Note the audience wasn't hissing. They were laughing and to Leno's credit he acted like he was writing down some of the oneliners.
