The ignorance of Mrs. Murray (aid worker slams witless Senator)
Washington Times - Letters to the Editors ^ | 23 December 2002 | HARRY G. JACOBSON

I have lived and worked in more than 50 countries with various foreign affairs agencies over the course of my career. So I was especially appalled by the comments of Sen. Patty Murray, Washington Democrat, regarding Osama bin Laden ("Murray hit for bin Laden remark," Nation, Saturday). Her statements were a slap in the face to countless Peace Corps volunteers,U.S.embassy employees and specialists within the U.S. Agency for International Development who have dedicated their lives to a cause President Kennedycalled "the long twilight struggle for freedom."

I recall a line from the early years of the Saturday Night Live! news segment. I'll paraphrase: Patty Murray, you ignorant bitch!

How about another paraphrase, from a biblical source: Patty, there are none so blind as those who refuse to see.

You done good!

Not mentioned in the letter, but of equal importance is the fact that our warriors do not go into battle to conquer, but rather to liberate. There are very few, if any nations on earth, where the policy is to rebuild your enemies once they are conquered. I have been to the punch bowl on Oahu, the thought that those men buried there died for our freedom and that of the rest of the world can choke you up. Many of them will be forever 17 or 18 years old. It would be hard to believe that any of our honored dead would ever have conceived of flying airplanes into buildings to kill innocent people. I hope that Patty Murray rots in her f--king tennis shoes.

Speaking of Biblical passages, one speaks directly of Patty and any other interchangable socialist you want to mention.

I think it has something to do with "Jawbone of Ass".

"How could she be so ungrateful and insensitive?

She is a Democrat.

"How could she be so ignorant?"

She is a liberal.

Bin Laden has done nothing compared to what the United States has in providing famine relief...

IIRC, the evil United States of America was the largest contributor of humanitarian
aid to a place called Afghanistan in 2001...even before the event of September 11, 2001.
At least that is what I believe I heard during some of the "why do they hate us"
discussions.
My gut feeling at when I heard this was that "maybe that mean that Muslims hate
people who are nice to them...".

This thread is a keeper. The letter is inspiring and should be widely published along the Hillary uniform pictures and some of the commentary.

What I've been searching for and haven't found is specific details on what, if anything, Bin-Laden has actually done that could be interpreted as of a charitable or helping nature. I recall hearing that Hamas has ostentatiously provided some services such as schools and food distribution programs, and the Black Panthers used to have free breakfasts. Usually there is some grain of truth behind these stories, but I can't find it. Funding military units and madrassahs doesn't count.

Sen. Murray blistered over bin Laden remark

In February 2001 — seven months before the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon — the U.S. Agency for International Development announced an emergency airlift of supplies into Pakistan and Afghanistan.

At the time, the agency noted the U.S. was the largest single donor of assistance to Afghanistan, contributing about $115 million that year to improve health, water, sanitation and nutrition.

If I find some more direct and complete documentation I will post it to the following thread and ping you:

I believe that Bin Laden (through the family construction group and his fortune) built some roads and other infrastructure in the Sudan. As I followed it, it was not so much to win hearts and minds of the people but to buy off the government to create safe have for Al Queda.
