Operation Infinite FReep, Columbia, Mo. 12/14/02
Streets of Columbia | 12/14/02 | bluesagewoman

Posted on 12/14/2002 1:32:56 PM PST by bluesagewoman

Mid-Missouri Patriots had the most pleasant weather for Freeping the peaceniks at the Columbia Post Office this morning. We were thrilled to see some of their new signs showing their true colors. Additionally, one sweet lady threatened me with a lawsuit for “changing” their signs when they are posted at FR. We must really be doing well in offending their sensibilities if they need to resort to threats of legal action against our right to free speech; you know how peaceful and tolerant they are, believing in the First Amendment for EVERYONE who agrees with them.

Zip, Shane, Prov, Bogeyman and I stood across from them, and were honored to speak to a few Veterans as they stopped by our little group to talk. We’d love to have them join us on a regular basis.

One peacenik decided she couldn’t stand Zip’s sign reading “Self-Defense is a Human Right” and crossed to where he was standing to advise him that we had killed 10’s of thousands of Afghan innocents the past year, was that self-defense? Zip asked her from where does she get her stats and information. She replied it was from “Christian” sources. Prov wanted to know if she believed everything she read there and the woman said that yes she did. Could it be that there is a little slanting of the news going on “there” where ever “there” is? No way could there be bias in liberal news operations.

Anyway, I have to post and run. We hope you enjoy the close-up of the peacenik sign with the small print. If we were having a contest to see who had the most remarkably, incredibly and overwhelmingly idiotic peaceniks, we’d win.

Legal Note: For those that worry, there is a principle upon which our society relies called the “First Amendment.” That Amendment allows people to express their opinions, even unfavorable or unflattering ones, without restraint. Parodies, even vicious ones, are covered by the First Amendment (as Jerry Falwell found when he sued Larry Flynt). Peaceniks who present their opinions in public, on public property, with a publicly displayed sign cannot complain when their very deliberately presented public opinions are held up to public ridicule on the publicly displayed Internet. If they do not want to stand the heat of what others think of their silly a$$ opinions, they should stay home.

The gang supports our troops on this fine morning.

A Show-Me request of Mr. Husssein.

"Freedom-threatened" woman "freely" expressing her opinion.

This lady didn't like Zip. I don't think she likes much of anything.

I found this photo of some flag waving fascists in front of
the Columbia Post Office dated October 5, 2002.

Zip, if you find some of the photos when they were waving that lovely red, black,
green and white flag from last spring, would you e-mail it to me? I think it would
really be fitting for this thread. BSW

Great Post and great Freep today!

The "NO" lady didn't understand Zip's picture of the eagle sharpening his talons. She said she doesn't believe anything our government says. She said that we have killed innocent Afghans; but when we told her that America had also dropped food and blankets during and after the war in Afghanistan, she didn't believe that either. I wonder where she gets her news.

Thank you, military, for your service to our country and for everything you do to maintain our freedom, our freedom of association, and our freedom of speech! God Bless You, and God bless America.

Great writeup. I'm sure I have the picture but have to work tonight. I'' dig it out and send it later. That gal didn't understand any of our signs and probably didn't like our flags either. As a matter of fact, they didn't like our signs at all. We had a young man (middle east accent and appearance) that stopped by and asked us "who is doing the self defense?". It was really easy for ziplet Shane and I to answer that one. That means we're doing good. I appreciated our VietNam Vet that stood with us today. Maybe he can start a Springfield group. Also thought the gentleman that came over and gave us all "patriotic" calendars was neat. It makes it worthwhile.

WTG, Columbia, MO FReepers and ziplet Shane! We are so proud of you for showing up the peaceniks each week. They certainly have closed minds, don't they. LOL! And thanks, too, to the Vietnam Vet that stood with you.

THANK YOU MISSOURI!!!!

Your gang always has your hands full with your peace-nik/useful idiot crowd. Great job of taking it to them!

If that peace-nik lady with the sign about flag waving fascists means you guys, she needs to go to the dictionary and look up "fascist". While she is at it she could look up the meaning of "constitutional republic". Please remind her next week.

All the Best

A nice photo of good Americans waving flags and supporting the military.

I'm sure that photo would be branded "pornography" by more than a few tenured,
tax-receipt-supported professors at UM-Columbia.

Whoa! Those guys are the peaceniks. They stand in front of the Post Office. We are across the street. When they wave flags, they say they are patriotic. When we hold a flag, they say we are fascists. So, if waving the American flag is fascist, they are as guilty as we are.

Whoa! Those guys are the peaceniks.

Oops!
Sorry about the mis-identification. I thought the caption about "flag waving
fascists" was just you using the term peacniks usually give the sort of folks who
hang around freerepublic.
Hence, I thought the photo was of freepers and sympthizers.

Funny, those folks can't stand the thought of a nativity scene in front
of a government building...but I guess at least one of them decided it was
OK to use it to push "Christian" propaganda about all the zillions of innocents
killed by blood-thirsty Americans in Afghanistan.

I heard conservative Jewish commentator Dennis Prager tear apart the study that
made those claims. Turned out it was some academic (in New Hampshire, IIRC, who just scanned
newspapers and magazines and cobbled together his stats...no real sources or
fact checking.

Bret, one of our FReepers, has an amazing memory (and sources) for many pertinent statistics. The funny part is when a peacenik quotes a number, they feel need to add a few zeros. 250 becomes 250,000 and so on. Bret has called them on it repeatedly but they continue to insist their stats are the real ones, and the government hides this information from all of us. I think they've told themselves the lies so many times, they truly believe them now.

Not only do they mess with numbers, they mess with the messages. They seem to think Christians should surrender and let terrorists take over. It is so warped, I can't even explain it. Talk about twisting good and evil. They are experts; moral equivalence is what they preach. Sorry, I believe there is good and there is evil. I will fight evil and call it what it is. Should the day come when we can no longer tell the difference between good and evil, who would even want to live here? Evil is incompatible with freedom. Good is imcompatible with terrorism. Though the phrase, "you are either with us, or with the terrorists" sounds simplistic, President Bush nailed it on the head.

Thank you so much for the link, and your support each week. Our fondest hope is that our troops and veterans see the FReeps and know we are behind them 100%.

Wish I could have been there, it sounds like it was a great day. The thing is, they are mad because their signs are changed around on this site, but their signs are so stupid in the first place with their ignorant sayings, that when they are reworded, they're not really that much worse. They should be thankful for the extra help they are getting to make their signs more "presentable".

I've been meaning to say how great I think it is that Shane is out there, it shows that younger people are involved in issues and do care about this country. He's someone everyone can be proud of. I know I'm proud to be in his company.
