Political paranoia with a purpose (Daschle's Outburst)

Last week in this space, in trying to account for Sen. Tom Daschle's strange outburst against the nation's most popular radio talk-show host and by extension, his audience, I referred in passing to Rush Limbaugh as "the last, best villain of the Democratic Party." Yes, I'd be happy to elaborate.

Daschle/Linbaugh ping. And now a word from Tod Lindberg:

"There is also an ironic aspect to Mr. Daschle's effort to cast Mr. Limbaugh as the right-wing bogeyman. In fact, far from being a representative of the extremist fringe, Mr. Limbaugh then and now has been a major force for policing the debate on the conservative side of the political spectrum. As, by far, the most influential conservative commentator, he has substantial de facto authority to set the bounds for respectable conservative opinion. He has used it to exclude all sorts of far-right views, especially those of the conspiracy-minded (speaking of political paranoia)."

Yep; first it was the VRWC....now it's Rush and Rush wannabees. And this only started because conservatives got on the air, first with Rush, then with others, now with FOX on t.v. and the Internet, like FR . . . I tell ya, "we're taking over." (that's a scary thought) NOT!

Tom Daschle is a politician of the worst sort. He has played his game of obstructionism since the day Jeffords jumped ship. The little man has wallowed in the power, enjoying every minute of it. He's nothing more than a soft-spoken back stabber (minus a temper tantrum or two). Why can't I get a look at his tax returns? Just how much money has his wife made from her airline lobbying activities? If the truth about these two ever becomes public, I believe he would shrink even further into his obscure little shoe lifts.

I do think there is an unholy Dashole/hitlery alliance. One thing to consider is whether little tommy is just a mouthpiece for her heinous. Wouldn't be that much of a surprise because earlier in his career little tommy served at the knees of George Mitchell (who BTW just got nominated to the "Blue Ribbon" 9/11 commmission.. interesting). Now little tommy may be serving at the knees of hitlery.

I agree with this entire piece. The commies are clearly flailing, none of their usual tactics are working. I think there is a lot of "throw it against the wall and see what sticks" at work here as well.

Limbaugh's honest, articulate, informed and I love the guy.
