In last night's Louisiana Senate debate, incumbent Democrat Mary L. Landrieu criticized help that her opponent was receiving from a series of national Republican figures, including a visit earlier in the day from former President George Bush.

I wonder why she just bitches about the help Terrell gets from President Bush and other prominent Republicans. She could be getting prominent DemocRATS like former president Clinton, former vice-president AlGore, and former senate majority leader Tom Daschle ro campaign for her in Lousiana.

someone tell the reporter the runoff is SATURDAY ... well, I don't care about the reporter, just LA GOP voters! Dems can show up Sunday.

...and Nancy Pelosi...

...and Hillary Rotten Clinton...

...and Susan Estrich....

...there are so many many people she could be calling on to help her win the hearts and minds of the voters of LA...

...I wonder why she isn't doing it...

Mwahmmmm... let's see: Northern liberals turn Louisianans off? Wonder why that is in a state where Democrats outnumber Republicans... ;-)

Mrs. Landrieu said. "I am as pro-life on this issue as anyone else."

Here are some excerps from the NRL-PAC:

Mary Landrieu told the truth in a fundraising letter she sent out last year, in which she boasted that she was "proud" of her 80 percent rating in the voting "scorecard" of the National Abortion Rights Action League.

I also want to make it clear that Mary Landrieu has established a strong pro-abortion voting record during her six years in the Senate. Mary Landrieu has voted in favor of abortion on demand. Mary Landrieu has voted to kill a bill to enforce state laws requiring parental notification or consent for abortion. Mary Landrieu has voted to use tax dollars for abortion, including paying for abortion on demand for teenage girls under the federal "kid-care" program.

Interesting scheduling putting the debates up against Monday Night Football. It sounds like Mary wanted to make sure the debates got as little viewing as possible.

That has got to be the stupidest* answer I have ever heard anyone give on this subject. Is Mary saying that she is the most pro-life senator in office? Is she as pro-life as the pro-life abortion-clinic-bombing zealots? This sounds like an answer from a second grader. What a maroon!

O2

(*I know stupidest sounds stupid, but it just fit so well here.)

Wink. I think that will rouse the abortion fanatics from NOW, NARAL, and PP to the height of fury. They've marked Here's Mary for Arkancide. A *viable* Democrat NEVER announces she's "pro-life." That's a euphemism for surrendering control over women's bodies to the vast right wing conspiracy. :)

I think what she meant to say is that she as pro-life as any pro-abortion person is on the issue of abortion. I hope that clears it up for you.

Hmm... wonder what Ms. Gandy thinks of Here's Mary's announcement she's "pro-life?" It must be giving her a good case of heartburn.

NOW's current President, Gandy, actively campaigned for Landrieu in 1996. NOW does NOT campaign for pro-life candidates.

Exactly. So how can they campaign for Here's Mary now?

Fair and balanced reporters (potentially extinct) would be interviewing Gandy and asking if NOW will withdraw their endorsement of Landrieu, but oh no, no one is going to dare put a liberal organization on the hot seat if they can get away with it...

That is why all the high profile Republicans can make the differance. They will rate news coverage and that will benefit the Republican over the Democrats attempt to hide during Monday Night Football.

"I have no qualms about him coming. I know he represents his party and that's fine, but I represent the state of Louisiana," she said.

Landrieu is a lot dumber than I thought she was.

I watched 10 minutes of the debate last night. That's all I could take from _either_ of them. Pathetic.
