Strom Thurmond of South Carolina turns 100 on Thursday, making him the oldest person to serve in the United States Senate and - with a tenure of 48 years - the longest serving.

LOL, The Post is Cool. Good thing they mentioned BYRD'S KKK past in the article to shake off any of controvery regarding Strom's past views.

Byrd couldn't care less. He has longebity and is in powerful positions on committees. He has been able to funnel federal money into West Virginia, a state which is broke and dependent upon him.

My wish is that Bush will put Gramm into the Sec. of Treasury position and let him run with it... It'd be good for the country and good for the economy.
