Difficult times can lead to times of blessing, and dreams pursued can dramatically affect the lives of others. This is the history of America, and this is also the history of Plymouth Colony's first Thanksgiving, which we commemorate today. The pilgrims' first Thanksgiving in 1621 was a time to enjoy the harvest and, by doing so, to honor the God who provided for all of their needs. So also, Thanksgiving is a time for Americans to celebrate with their loved ones the harvest in their own lives and to reflect on the blessings of life, love and liberty.
