such as allowing younger workers to be able to invest a portion of their SS payments in secure private funds if they desire to do so

I guess I don't understand this portion...how would investing privately help the Social security system? I mean, that would essentially take money out of the system that is supposed to provide for 2 retirees by taxing 1 worker in 20 years right?

Just wonderin....

I guess the representatives are going to continue doing what the Democrats did for the 40 years before the republican takeover of 1994....

Just add little white pieces of paper into the Social Security lock box that say: "I.O.U. ( fill in the blank ) dollars towards the retirement of the John Doe's generation to be paid back by 2069."

It's a good thing we left the gold standard in the dust...SS would heve been dead years ago and we'd probably have already had our revolution.

There's still time for a Revolution. 1994 was just a mini revolt by "Republic"an standards.

I'm worried more about the cold dead bodies the Dim's are going to line up to vote on Tuesday.

You know, I was just thinking back to '94 (I'll be telling my grandkids about that attempted coup BTW)...and I was feeling pretty good until I recalled the way pubbie leadership doused the flames of all those young conservatives that we elected. I think it was in '95/'96 that I gave up on the pubbies, because of the way they de-clawed the contract w/America, as if we needed another one..RE:the Constitution. The very fact that we were offered another contract really shows how how far it's gone.

MAKnight. Thanks for posting. Our neighbors are revved up to go vote. We estimate that we get out at least several dozen apathetic neighbors by distributing a personal letter. Most seize on one issue that touches them and it's astounding how little most people know but they at least go vote. One neighbor told me she was inspired to get her family out to vote and the letter we distibuted was the spark! I just believe that if you don't put your words into action...then we can't change the world. Thanks again for your efforts!
