Former President Bill Clinton reminded black voters yesterday about their ancestors' struggle for voting rights and called on them to turn out in large numbers at Tuesday's election to vote for Lt. Gov. Kathleen Kennedy Townsend for governor.
Speaking at the massive Jericho City of Peace Church complex in Landover, Mr. Clinton warned thousands of voters, mostly black, against going with someone who appeared to be a "compassionate" conservative. Prince George's County is considered crucial in the close gubernatorial race.

Like he remembers black churches burning?
The 1965 Voting Rights Act received overwhelming support from Republicans, with 82% Republican support in the House and 94% Republican support in the Senate. More than a third of the Democrat Senators voted against the act.
And what exactly is your point? Are you accusing Erlich of being one of those "beady-eyed white guys?" Is he a racist?
Really, Bill, we need to know. Do you have a real point to make, or are you just trying to stir up some of the uglier, more painful memories in our country's history and somehow try to associate this decent man, Mr. Erlich, with them?
Why not mention the four little girls who died in the Birmingham church bombing? Go ahead, wave MLK Jr.'s bloody shirt too, as long as you're at it. Is there any level of vile, ugly manipulation to which you will not stoop? Excuse my rhetorical question.
"...these people..."

Coming soon: Tha SYNDICATE.
Words will not express the rage I feel about this slime of a little boy.
So, what's clinton trying to say here? If whites couldn't pass these tests how could blacks ever hope to?
Name one policy, evil one that had any effect on the economy.
That's not true ... but his is the last IMPEACHED president of the United States of America.
If you want on (or off) of my black conservative ping list, please let me know via FREEPmail. (And no, you don't have to be black to be on the list!)
Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.
It is a race in which blacks are considered to be the deciding factor, and Mr. Clinton warned against politicians who would divide the people into "us" and "them." He recalled a time, growing up in the South, when blacks were herded on the back of trucks by "beady-eyed white guys."
Clinton was addressing a black audience and used direct racism as his argument against division. Wow, logic was never his strong point, division and racist appeals certainly are.
That was my first thought when reading this. And I wonder why Tom Brokejaw, Dan Blather and Katie Corkit will never make this obvious comparison.
Sad, very sad.

I wonder why Clinton thinks he's somehow excluded from that. Isn't he looking pretty beady-eyed these days?
