Since two types of vehicle have been consistently reported, and since snipers require support to survive, consider the possibility that the "van" and "box truck" both exist and that at least three people need to be involved. One or two in the van as spotters and door keepers, two in the truck as driver and shooter.
I'd be very interested to learn if there were cell phones or two-way radio/CB in the van.
It is possible that someone in the group left some sign that he'd be willing to talk if he could be broken free of his buddies. (versus) The report that someone called 911 after seeing the van in a school parking lot would set that theory aside but not disprove it.
On the other hand, someone spotted in an empty lot might have wanted to call in for instructions..which would damage the radio/CB theory(?)
It might even be argued that a Bush sticker, USMC, NRA, etc. would be protective coloring ... if you're a leftist, terrorist, murdering creep. Keeping it as un-noteworth as possible is the normal format while operating but stickers and decals can be added and removed in between if that was the intent.
Or not.
PS: Someone noted that either the DNC or UN might be behind the whold thing (or at least the pointing at Bush): I'd bet the farm that there are several people under cover of the UN who at least know the story.

That makes the *third* rebuke.
I get the point, already.

I know. Duplicate posts often occur when the server is running slow. It seems to be picking up now.

Oh, I am so glad. I didn't want to hurt your feelings, and I love the graphics. I need to get a better connection so I wouldn't be so slow, anyway. I'm slow on a good day, much less when FR bogs. :) Thanks for understanding.

FWIW Wardaddy, there are close to 99,000 registered users on FR Now. God only knows how many lurkers.
FR does a really good job of handling all of the traffic it gets and I would love to know from JR how many concurrent requests it handles on average.
Problem seems to be that whenever we have a successful fundraiser we seem to get software upgrades. Being a professional Software Quality Analyst, I think that we see a throw it over the wall approach to software deployment. Cant really blame them as FR is run with a very small number of resources, but the pattern seems to persist. The next phase is usually fine tuning and then a semblance or normalcy until the next tweak/upgrade.

This van they showed on CNN doesn't look like the "composite" van to me. Is this the right people?
To: jackbill
The flag on the rear window of the "van" was that of Mexico - green, white, red, with the eagle/serpent in the middle stripe (white). Yea, I notice that a few messages ago. I just notice the Soccer Ball on back window also

FOX News has been terrible in their coverage. Their experts seem relatively clueless and they continue stating that the person arristed is not the sniper.
The CNN expert actually seemed the most credible. Most likely one of the pair turned in the sniper and was waiting to see how the police responded before turning himself/herself in at the remote location that was being reported.
I have a feeling this is most likely over, but the "experts" have not been helpful at all.

"This looks nothing like the police composite of the van!!!!!!!! What I meant was "Pop out" windows would be easy to shoot from (toward the rear)...just thinking

It's okay.
I have a fast connection at work and forget that others don't.
BTW, my feelings are not easily bruised.
FR has given me a thicker skin than I used to have... 8^)

"Heard a witness say it he saw a NRA sticker."I can't really tell from the news footage, but I think it's a USMC sticker. I watch for NRA stickers, and there's a common Marine Corps sticker that looks very much like the NRA logo from a distance. The best way to tell the difference at long range is by looking at the bottom left cornerthe Marine sticker has the anchor breaking the circle at that point.

Speculation:
These two guys have nothing to do with the sniping.
They are day laborers, or small time contractors.
They run an ad somewhere.
Sniper contacts them and tells them he has work for them at that school.
They show up at school, but nobody there.
Sniper has given them number to contact him at.
That number is the number Moose made reference to.
One of the two goes to a phone booth to call that number, while other waits at school, in case anyone shows up.
Police move in as soon as number is called.
Sniper laughs.

There is a report on DRudge about a French sniper who is AWOL from his training in France. He had previously been on leave to North America.
It's probably a reach...anway, today your best bet for information is sadly CNN. Fox has stunk all day today and frankly, I'd rather listen to Cnn's Daryn than Fox's Katherine Herriage(sp?). She never seems to know what's going on and is always stumbling over her words or mixing up facts.
To: KsSunflower
msnbc ..per Bob Kerr...there are not 2 in custody..At one point a man was stopped and handcuffed in a gas station across the street form the van stop..He was then released..NOW the White House says that there have been more than one arrest....maybe they were listening to CNN!
and...NO gun found in white van in Richmond VA today...Search warrant for van driver's home in process.
also:
Sources tell MSNBC that the note left at the Ponderosa in the woods was DETAILED, lets
them know what he may do next...went on to say "We may be entering a very difficult time
now"....
To: Constitution Day
Great graphic, though! Thanks from another lightning-fast-at-work computer ...
To: per loin
Nice one. And now the sniper maybe knows a little more about the procedures the police will use.

Hey, you are not the most important person involved in this situation. They are not doing all to give you information - they are working to stop the sniper and resolve this. The press conference is NOT to inform the public but to communicate with the shooter. Well then maybe the media should boycott Moose press conferences and not give him any air time. He seems to think they are at his diposal. He can just use them, but not give them or us (the public) any info.
