It was perhaps inevitable that the recent sniper killings in the Washington area suburbs would be seized upon by advocates of gun control. Like so much in the agenda of the political left, gun control arguments would collapse like a house of cards if people just stopped to think through what is being said, instead of being swept along by emotional rhetoric.

Try that on your average minivan-driving soccer-mommie-moron, though... she'd rather submit to a totalitarian fascist police state than learn how to use a < < shudder, quake... > > **GuN**...
Ah, yes... Introducing logic into the argument/debate.
There is, however, an intrinisic problem to this approach: liberals/socialists/communists don't believe in using logic... they believe that your feelings matter more, that what you intend to do, is more important than what you actually do...
They believe in sparing the lives of the innocent, except when they're truly innocent (need I say the word "abortion?"), they believe that intentions are more valuable than results, they believe that we can tax ourselves into a new era of prosperity...
Need I go on??? Liberals don't believe in reality, only fantasy. Using a variation of Gloria Steinam's professed "a woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle," analogy, a democrat/socialist/communist needs reality like a burn-victim needs a match; they're mutually exclusive.
You have to understand; to be a liberal, you have to be either completely ignorant, or mentally incompetant. How else can you explain such disregard for reality and rational thought...?
Molon Labe !
But we need honest numbers, and this the gun control crusaders clearly do not intend to provide.
Gun control advocates, especially politicians that favor more gun-control laws are one of two things and usually it's the later: (1) ignorant/incompetent or (2) dishonest. They chose to demonize honest people that are proponents of gun safety such as the NRA, GOA and their members. Advocates of more gun-control laws lie about the statistics. They flip 180 degrees upside-down the statistics that prove more guns reduces crime. Think about it this way, put yourself in the criminal's shoes for a moment; which would you rather attack, an unarmed citizen or a citizen armed with a gun?
No honest person likes to learn after the fact that they've been lied to. We all like to think we're too smart for that. Worse is the mental and emotional stress when a person learns they've been betrayed by the very people who proclaim they can be trusted -- having your own sacred trust violated can be gut wrenching. Yet you'd still rather know the truth than continue to be mislead by lies.
Knowing the true statistics of gun crime and gun-control laws highlights why and how voting for the lesser of evils begets evil. Okay, to you it probably isn't gut wrenching to learn that politicians have violated your trust with their lies. Because you didn't much trust them in the first place.
Guns are not the problem. People are the problem.
The biggest problem is not gun-toting criminals. The biggest problem is the politician that votes in favor of gun-control laws. For with their laws they disarm honest citizens -- leaving them as defenseless prey for law-breaking criminals. Politicians that support gun-control laws lie about that.
You don't personally need to carry a gun because the deterrent to a criminal is not knowing who is carrying a gun. If the politicians disarm all honest citizens the criminals would have nothing to fear. Certainly they have almost no fear that the police will respond quick enough to a 911 call. A robbery or mugging takes a minute or two at most. Whereas 911 response times are five minutes at best and usually ten to fifteen minutes until the police show up. Show up to at the scene of the crime way too late to have stopped the crime.
The more honest citizens that carry a concealed gun the safer all citizens are. Politicians that tell you less guns equates to less violent crime are lying to protect their jobs. They proclaim from on high that they want to protect you but their actions are exactly the opposite. No person wants to be taken advantage of like that. We're supposed to be too smart for that. Still, it is better that a person knows they're being taken advantage of than to continue to be mislead. It is better to know that your fellow citizen has more interest in your safety than politicians who merely proclaim to safeguard citizens while passing gun-control laws that make honest citizens easy prey for criminals.
What can be, and often is gut wrenching, is to learn that fraudulent politicians want more honest citizens to be the victims of crime because the more victims there are the more need there is for politicians to do their job. Gut wrenching to learn that between gun-toting criminals and politicians, the lesser evil is law-breaking criminals and the greater evil is fraudulent politicians.
The only reassuring thing that brings a sense of relief and safety to the gun issue is to know that your fellow, honest citizens that chose to carry a concealed gun are the greatest safeguard you have against criminals, save for you carrying a gun of your own.
This is not rocket science. We should not even have needed the studies that have shown gun control laws don't work. What we really need to do is stop and think.
Start people thinking by asking the question: Who are the more destructive criminals; the million law-breaking criminals that use guns or the politicians that disarm and leave honest citizens defenseless? Which criminal is easier to identify and locate: the law-breaking criminals that prey on disarmed and defenseless citizens or, the fraudulent politician that votes with his colleagues and stroke of a pen to pass laws that turn honest citizens into easy prey for law-breaking criminals?
Buhh..buhh..buhhhh..but, Ta..ah..ahh..ahmmm. Wha..ahh..ahh..at do you think we ah..ahh...ahhhre? Pee..ee..ee..eeople? Thinking hur..ur..urrts.
