A Few of FR's Finest.....
......Every Day

FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues;  salute
and support our military and our leaders;  tell a few jokes;  learn a new
word;  write poetry;  pray for those in need;  and congratulate those who
are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which
we can express ourselves.

Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.  I
can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands
of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.

Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!

And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

Flying the California flag and joining FReeRepublic on May 26, 1999, this FReeper didn't waste any time getting involved. (She said she lurked for about 30 minutes before signing up!) And shortly afterwards attended her first FR protest - the "Moronic Mom March", as she called it. Here is my "How I Became a FReeper" story.... by feinswinesuksass

It all started out innocently enough…my best friend's husband found out I was pro 2A and he told me about this site. He was just a lurker and had been for many months. I lurked for about 30 minutes before I had to respond to some thread (wish I could remember which one).

I had a tough time coming up with a screen name. I tried several & they were not available. I remembered that my other half (do not call him Mr. Sukass) had called Diane Feinstein another name….."Feinswine". He said that is how he & his friends used to refer to her in San Francisco. For some strange reason, Feinswine was not available…so I added suksass..and PRESTO…I was a FReeper.

I began reading & posting mostly on gun related threads, but I had a lot to catch up on. I had not really paid much attention to politics and began to immerse myself in threads on the Clinton scandals and boy did those keep me busy. This was right around the time Columbine happened and the gungrabbers were in overdrive trying to enact new laws to disarm the public. Luckily, the pro 2A crowd had found a gathering place online and activist groups began to form.

Second Amendment Sisters was launched by several ladies on FR in response to the Moronic Mom March. I was so excited to attend my first protest. I met many people that day and several became pretty good friends. Mercuria was the first freeper I met…she was there as a Freporter. She then introduced me to AnnaZ and Incindiary. That counter protest was so much fun. I think the next time we got together was for a screening of The Patriot.

I participated in several of the Election 2000 demonstrations. We had them every weekend from mid November thru the SCOTUS decision. Oh what fun it was to hold up the SORE LOSERMAN signs.

I also helped to start the Hollywood Resistance Force. We began attending taping of "Politically Incorrect" when a conservative we liked was on the panel. We were there to support Jon Lott, Ann Coulter, James Hirsen, Ted Nugent and Dennis Prager.

The Liberty Belles were formed by several members of the CA chapter of SAS and we have had much success with our events. We have organized many shoots at Burro Canyon where we hang out, shoot weapons and then BBQ. The last one was for a write up in the French Elle magazine. We have yet to see what was written, but I hope it is positive. Recently, we were at The Hollywood Celebrity Shoot and got to meet several pro gun celebrities.

We freeped a few weeks ago in West LA while Bush was in town campaigning for Bill Simon. We were few in number and it was ugly, but we survived to protest another day.

The most recent Freeps are all about DUMPING GRAY DAVIS. We are going to make our voices heard and get Bill Simon elected governor of California. Check with Rondog for dates & times…he is dressing up like a prostitute for the events……you don't want to miss that!

Feiny wrote the following on our 9/11 thread, and it made such an impression on me that I wanted to post it again for those of you who missed it.

"Just got back from a ceremony at the firehouse next door to me. They lowered the flag to half mast & rang out 10 bells. The bells are rung 10 times whenever a firefighter is killed."

"Local TV reporter & cameras were on hand and I got interviewed. I doubt it will make the cut because the reporter began crying when I answered her question and she could not continue. She asked me what I was doing there & I answered that I lived next door....walked by these guys everyday....and wanted to pay my respects to them and to someone I knew that was killed in the WTC. (At this point tears were running down my face...and she was crying also). I then mentioned BCM (Battalion Chief Moran) and Free Republic. I was nervous and crying...and I said James Moran instead of John Moran. Just as I was about to correct myself, she cut the camera and said she needed to compose herself. We were supposed to reshoot, but I had to leave."

It has been such a pleasure getting to know feinswinsuksass as she comes regularly to say hello to FReeper FRiends who are featured in our spotlight. Actually, I first met her on FR about a year and a half ago, on a thread where she was modeling an Easter hat....and did she ever look fabulous, fein and sophisticated! :)
