I was alerted to the poll, I felt compelled to share my views, and I voted once. What's wrong with that?

Activism works both ways. The Left doesn't have a "lock" on mobilizing their constituents.

Protestors need to get a life.........
Secondly they need to chill the f**k out.
Maybe some of their liberal friends can hook them up with some mental evaluations free of charge.

BTW, a majority of people DON'T vote in these polls. The majority are doing things OTHER than political in nature. The people who vote on these issues are news junkies and activists.

Yah, completely innocent, there had only been violent protest for several days...violent enough to bring out the National Guard. There had been protests, but not "violent protests for several days". Then these so called innocents stroll along between armed men and a violent crowed. If they were innocent, and I'm sure some were, they were stupid.

Not true. Some of the students killed and injured were hundreds of yards away. The closest was about 85 yards. What is stupid is firing indiscriminately into a crowd of people.

It was probably just couple professional agitators that through the first brick...

For clarification, things were thrown but not bricks.

In my less then humble opinion, throwing bottles, rocks, or bricks is potentially lethal force and should be answered with a bullet.

Firing indiscriminately into a crowd of people is stupid.

Gee, the hippies only peaceably burnt down the ROTC building the day before.

Perhaps they did. However, there is no evidence.

For some inexplicable reason, the national press insists on calling riots "protests" when in fact they are nothing of the sort. Note they don't fail to use the term "riot police" however.

I wish I could find some more 'balanced' accounts of the 1968 Democratic National Convention, for an example -- it was NOT as the popular press would have you believe from what little material I can find. Intelligent folks can read between the lines.

"There is no evidence"

Oh, come on. Lets not sugarcoat any of this. The "anti-war" movement was in reality a "don't draft my sorry a#$" movement, which promptly went away once the draft was rescinded. The country was in complete chaos by 1968, and while I lament the loss of life at Kent, it was in large degree predictable.

Let me tell you what these disrespectful protesters need. They need what their parents never gave them. They need their pants yanked down and their butts lit up with belts and paddles till they can't sit down for a month!

It amazes me to no end the level of disrespect for any human being that these bastards display. All the huggy-kissy respect in the world for rocks & trees though.

I'll stand by my assessment that they need their butts blistered good and often! It'd be a hell of a lot more merciful than what they have coming on Judgement Day when they find out there IS a God and their beloved Mother Nature was as ficticious as Mickey Mouse.

If you actually go around to the different sites and take a good hard look at the pictures these are definitely NOT hardened militants. There was a diverse group of protesters at the hilton yesterday in the age groups from 4years old up to 60+.

If you really want to talk about extremists what about the ever friendly anti abortion groups who put out death warrants on abortion doctors?

It's one thing to sabotage logging equipment, quite another to support and attempt murder in cold blood....

You can tell what people think by just looking at them? And what makes you think this crowd was "diverse"? Diverse to me, means diversity of thought. I love the strawman you put up about "anti-abortion groups" who target abortionists. I'm sure you won't find any supporters of murder here. The Nazi's were worse than those who sabotage logging equipment too, but so what? What does that prove? That they have the right to do it? Wrong. And don't think for a second that those environMENTALists aren't dangerous. Spiking trees certainly is deadly. That's why they do it.

Yes, but years later everyone agreed BIG mistakes were made by the National Guard at Kent State.

Yeah, they should have shot the instigators, not distant bystanders. "F" in marksmanship.

Heck, I'd settle for the audio frequency generator which liquefies the target's guts... I imagine that explosive diarrhea and projectile vomiting would put a real quick end to the whining protests.

Heh Heh! Yeah, but after 10+ years of listening to lousy music, I suspect that they are immune to any audio stimulus. :)

Try reviewing the pictures again....As always, the hardened militants mix in with the bulk of the protesters so they are not singled out easily by the police.....Then they attempt to incite others around them.. When the cops finally move in, as the militants both know and want to happen, they run and leave the bulk of the crowd to "face the music"......

How you get from an agressive environmentalist rally to anti-abortion efforts here is the US is puzzling...By all standards (including US Dept. of Justice numbers) the number of radical environmentist crimes in both property and human injuries (inc. death) far exceed anything the anti-abortion crowd has proferred. Especially the past two years....It's one thing to sabotage logging equipment, quite another to support and attempt murder in cold blood....

"It's one thing to sabotage logging equipment, quite another to support and attempt murder in cold blood...."

It's obvious that by that statement you do not have a complete understanding of what spiking a tree does to a logger with a chain saw. I suggest you go visit the rehabilitative ward in a hospital in the NW and talk to some loggers who have experienced it. Or perhaps try the cemetary or talk to their family and friends.....

Spiking a tree should be considered attempted murder. Saw mill blades are huge, and they pretty much explode when they hit the spike.

Besides, abortionists are murderers.
